Hunter Ensley is that guy this year. We lost some big time players from last years team and baseball is just a wonky sport. I also don’t think we have the pitching depth we had last year.

No disrespect to anyone on this team but it appears we lack a “dog”. A guy that just does not accept losing. Preferably you need an everyday player and someone on the pitching staff.
I fear this is going to show its head as we move into the tougher portion of our schedule (include post season).

Nico was basically that disgruntled employee that shows up and does the job, has no real plans to leave, but likes to always act like they might leave because they want more money and aren't afraid to make it known to other employees in hopes of getting some sort of confirmation from others. That stuff is bad for team morale when it's coming from your QB and introduces some unnecessary instability to the team leading into the next season. UT leaked it to get movement one way or the other and it's obvious that they just wanted to get beyond the drama.

Don't we somewhat expect shopping tho? Agents are doing that all the time everywhere and Big Nic was effectively acting as agent. Nico telling others he's going is far beyond a disgruntled employee looking for confirmation. That's the manager where you're the employee telling you they're moving on and taking his client list with him so you might want to consider your own options - here's my card, call me in a few.

I know a dude in South Knox with one like that, same color. . . except. . . he's had his "show car" restored. Says he has over $130k in it. Idk if true, but it looks perfect everywhere (TWSS).

You probably couldn't pry it away from him for less than $95k. . . probably more than that.

I'd like to find an old widow selling selling her husband's that he put in a barn 35 years ago for about $4,500, . . .

I was driving down Sugarloaf road a few weeks ago, glanced off in a cow pasture and saw some old farm trucks with grass growing up around them. There's an old ford flatbed out there, looks like a 70's f500, I'd like to have. May go and see if I can do some trading with him.

Scary.. Pavia is a ok QB not a Tennessee level QB, Hopefully with better coaching we won't have to ask "why?" So much. You want your QB to be solid decision maker.

Have a feeling the middle/crossing routes will be limited.

he was probably told his agreement would be reevaluated. not that it matters. pay is commensurate with play.

perhaps he wanted supporting pieces, we probably did drop the ball there.

no mind. his sins are unforgivable. you don't go through spring and leave your team.

he wasnt betrayed, he betrayed his team.

he has every gift God could give but emotional maturity, the single most important facet of a QB. He is a victim, not a leader.

And for that reason, Im 100% feeling vindicated in the court of opinion.


We HAVE to find a receiver, and we will be better off.

I believe if A.J. Russell would've been healthy all season he would've been the leader in the clubhouse. The position player is a tough one all are young guys or just one year rentals. I believe Levi Clark will step up and be the vocal leader in the next couple of seasons. Curley is a California kid, laid back and surfs up dude...

I’m starting to think that Nico did a lot of WR blaming instead of taking responsibility for his own mistakes (I.e. the overthrows). That would explain Squirrel leaving, etc. I’m not convinced that bringing in highly talented WRs would have fixed all the passing game problems. Nico needed to put in the work with his WRs to fix the problems and I’m not convinced he did because he expected them to adjust to him. Maybe he should have made some adjustments too.

Will Heflin was talking on one of the broadcasts that people don't realize that TN has the youngest team in the SEC this year. Lot of experience and leadership to replace and develop this season.

One of the teammates went to Heupel to alert him. Heupel met with Iamaleava to make sure everything was OK and didn't mention anything about the information coming from teammates, and Iamaleava assured his coach that everything was good and it was "all a bunch of rumors."

and then the nail in the coffin on Nico....

"That next morning, Iamaleava didn't show up for Friday's practice or meetings and didn't alert anyone in the program.

Nic Iamaleava urged his son to go in and meet face-to-face with Heupel and his coaches to work things out, but Iamaleava felt betrayed, sources said, and did not speak with Heupel on Friday. Several people within the Vols' program tried to reach out to the quarterback to no avail."

So it was Nico, NOT Big Nic that decided to not show up to practice

This is interesting stuff, very odd. We had it wrong all along it appears. Nick was about business, Nico was about feels. Nico with some hard ball from his father created this negative situation and instead of meeting it head on he quit on his team.

That explains the lack of of lament from his offensive teammates. Did the pressure just get to Nico? If so UCLA is a better spot for him.

Yea, when I first commented on this, I was focused on some higher order numbers which would seem to indicate 4 mill/year is a bit much.

There were signs at the very least, and they look to have been ignored. That's really the only fault I have with our coaches and administrators.

Might be a good time to 'move on' from NICO. I don't dislike him nor do I need to tear him down. Time to move on with our new, promising QBs and one top rated one still coming. Chapter has closed.
