2025 NBA Season Thread aka Draymond's Annual Wealth Destruction Tour

Tobias had 15/13, played elite defense on KAT to the point Thibs didn't even want to run anything for KAT in the 4th quarter. Could make the case he was the third best player on the floor last night.

It's unbelievable the Knicks have all these cool pieces they can use on offense and Thibs is like "Nah man, let's just run isos like I used to do with Derrick Rose in 2011" for most of his offense.

I think KAT took himself out more than Thibs did. Why is KAT settling for the perimeter against Tobias? Toby is battling and KAT doesn't wanna, but that's the move

It doesn't help they run zero stuff for him though. They ran zero Brunson/KAT ball screens or any semblance of post ups.

I'd be remiss if I do not mention that Kawhi Leonard was the best player on the floor last night.

Playoff storylines I'd enjoy:

Kawhi wins 3rd title, on 3 teams in injury-riddled career, vaulting him to mythological status and in the top 20 all-time.

I forget Kawhi is my favorite player until he starts playing like Kawhi. Russillo doing 15 minutes on him yesterday and BS + Lowe doing basically a full show about him, talking about what I was saying here^.

He played so well Monday that the Clippers overcame an 18-rebound deficit!

Paraphrasing BS, he's the 2nd greatest 'what if' of all time (Bill Walton). He's the best two-way wing in an era where that is the most valuable prototype you can be. He'd easily be a top 15 player all-time without the injuries.

I didn't realize (or just forgot) that he went to my rival HS lol. He would have been in 7th grade when I graduated

Take a trip down memory lane. My buddy talked so much trash about what Kawhi and company were going to do to Jimmer and he lit them up.

\

Edit: Oh yeah, and this BYU team could've gone far in the tourney, but their 2nd best player (a very athletic wing who was shut down on D) got suspended for boning his GF. 😄 Pretty sure they lost in the Sweet 16 to Florida.

Literally calls every opponent b**** a*** n**** every single game 50 times a game but Kerr whining this is too much

Lowe and Goldsberry had an interesting conversation about how the chasm between the way games are officiated in the regular season vs. the playoffs has never been bigger. They pointed out that we made this emphasis moving away from foul-baiting, and you'd expect the playoffs to be even grittier on these calls, but Jalen Brunson has drawn 25 fouls in 2 games. Meanwhile, Steph Curry is getting assaulted off-ball and they're not enforcing freedom of movement stuff, which was enforced in the regular season.

NY's market is much larger than Detroit's...

Not much difference in size of Houston and SF market...

The league is absolutely dying to have GSW vs. LAL in the 2nd round (which would also mean Steph or Lebron in the WCF). Houston is a big market but they don't have any players that casuals are tuning in for.
