2025 NBA Season Thread aka Draymond's Annual Wealth Destruction Tour

Playoff storylines I'd enjoy:

Kawhi wins 3rd title, on 3 teams in injury-riddled career, vaulting him to mythological status and in the top 20 all-time.

Lebron or Steph wins 5th title.

Jokic goes next level to drag Nuggets deep.

OKC wins it all because they did everything right in building this team.

NYK in ECF

Giannis goes next level to drag Bucks deep.

Pacers back in the ECF would be hilarious.

Is the Ball family buying all the Lamelo merch? I definitely would have lost the bet on him being top 12.

Kids love flashy guards and a social media presence. Surprised Ja isn't still up there.

It's crazy that Lebron and Steph still top the list. If I were a kid, I would never wear a jersey with a name as long as SGA's. It looks so stupid.

Rude, what about the Pistons having the greatest season-to-season turnaround in NBA history by beating the Knicks

Bill Simmons talked about how basketball just doesn’t seem to work in New Orleans and that they just have the overall support/structure. Moves like this doesn’t help AT ALL

That would be cool in and of itself. I am a little bit worried about the Pistons getting out of the first round and getting killed by the C's in the 2nd. But that might happen with the Knicks, too. Would like all the 2nd round matchups to be good.

I cannot believe I've lived to see a 2 guard at 6'6 shoot 22 times per game and shoot 57% from 2P range. SGA really is a freak. I almost don't believe it.

To put that in perspective, Jordan best percentage from 2 in a season was 55%. Now he shot 500 more 2's, but you got to remember SGA put up 435 3's (Jordan put up 93 for comparison) and shot 37.5% from the arc.

@zjcvols WTH is BS talking about dropping Murray out of his top 40 because of his play and injuries this year??

- most games he's played since 2019
- most ppg ever
- above his career average in every shooting stat
- above his career average in apg, rpg, spg, and bpg

What am I missing? It was probably his most productive season.

He watched the Olympics prelims, two games in November and saw he was hurt and decided he was having a bad year.

The problem with Denver is pretty simple. They don't have enough shooting with Westbrook on the floor and they haven't played defense since the beginning of the calendar year. That's been the biggest issue. And Malone couldn't get them to play defense, which is why he was fired.

That game last night was so fun. Bane deserved a W and seems like every time I tuned in to watch Curry going back to the Olympic final, he's been electrifying, and that was no different last night.

Kuminga getting completely benched is wild.

Simmons is at his best with big picture stuff. When he was on with Lowe and talking about the turmoil of basketball in NOLA, that's when he is absolutely on. The day-to-day player evaluations stuff he isn't good at.

Denver is a better playoff team than regular season team because depth matters less as the rotations shorten, they can turn up the D now that it's go time, but if Murray's not ready to go, it's going to be impossible to make the WCF.

If Jamal Murray doesn't play lik 2023 Playoff Murray, they're not winning a series. Plus they have got have role players hit outside shots. It killed them against Minnesota.

Clippers are really good, and you'd think they match up well with Denver, but we all know Jokic has absolutely owned them.
