We aren’t going to the playoff again. Enjoy baseball and softball for now

All new OL, depleted WR room with no experienced starters, Superstar RB gone, significant losses on DL including Pearce : I was not fully expecting playoffs even with Nico given a lot of changed variables. What I was hoping was Nico takes a big step this year and we get to a respectable 9-3/10-2 type situation (outside chance at playoffs). I still think we get 8 wins without Nico. There is still enough talent to beat 8 teams. Who knows we might get lucky and beat the 9th one.

It’s an opinion my guy! Damn nobody asked for your little response either. Sure is useless for you to take time to reply. Wasn’t meant to be negative just saying what i expect.chilllllllll
Drive by I guess. LOL. Didn't expect to be negative, you have no clue what is going to happen nor do I the season will pan out. You wrote a lengthy post of gibberish that anybody for sure has no clue of what will happen. Safe useless post and then profess your excellence in seeing the future by showing us your track record. Beat your chest somewhere else.

Many reasons for last season O along with not a lot of confidence in Nico airing it out. Don't disagree with some of what you say but the predicted doom and gloom is just what it is, an unknown prediction. We could go 8-4 with Nico to.

The Appy guy could be the next Hooker or he may not even win the starting spot. No one knows.

Friggin' nega-vols. Can't live with them, and Freak won't let us shoot them.

Man up, OP, grow some male body parts. This season could be anything from 8-4 to 12-0, and we just won't know until it gets here. Stop bellyaching about how bad we have it.

Go Vols!

I think hype played the conservative not to lose style of O last season from a have to case. Many reasons for that along with not a lot of confidence in Nico airing it out. 7 or 8 wins isn’t doom and gloom just not playoffs is all I’m saying, dude might be a stud and I’m sleeping on him just think the overall team isn’t as good on top of that. I’ll take a bowl game and look forward to Faizon and be a happy man

If he winds up being the starter, I hope Aguilar plays with a Baker Mayfield-sized chip on his shoulder and proves some people wrong this season. I haven’t got to watch much of his film, but I’ve heard some say he can process things quickly on the field, which is something Heup’s offense has been lacking the last couple years, so maybe we can get some tempo again. Not saying I expect him to be Hendo, but that’s my positive spin on the situation and hope going into this season.

I'm not impressed when a guy starts a new thread bellyaching and being really negative, then when he gets pushback from the rest of us, tries to hide behind, "It was just a prediction, I didn't say nothing negative."

Well, here are the facts, brother. The words you used: "I'm afraid" ... "season could be a long one" ... "gonna hurt us for sure" ... we don't have near as much talent" ... "I'm scared" ....

You infused your entire original post with negativity. Don't try to pretend you were just making an objective prediction. You were bellyaching. Man up.

Go Vols!

When Heupel got here the roster was decimated and he still managed a 7-5 season which was a masterful coaching job. The current roster is in a much better state, although the question marks are valid. I'm not expecting a playoff appearance but I wouldn't rule out this staff either.

Those are facts and if you think we have the talent we had last year then you are delusional. I’m just saying I would like our coach to get back to his offense because it’s fun to watch. I’m not actually scared or afraid you are just reaching and trying to start something. The season could be a long one if this qb doesn’t work out as well as the oline with a lot of new faces and a new rb as well. It’s not negative it’s just the truth. I’m riding no matter what.

I’m hopeful as well man and you never know. I ride with heupel just miss the offense with Hendo is all I’m saying. I’m sure all of you were calling for changes when we watched that OU game and some others. And the roster isn’t in better shape this year then years past. About on par with that first season just deeper. I look forward to the season just gonna take it game by game

I’m afraid this coming up football season could be a long one. By no means do I think we are bad but the Nico thing is gonna hurt us for sure. No way would we ever want to swap him for that UCLA/App State guy. I do think Nico’s family kinda runs the show but let’s not forget that the offense we were running last year wasn’t the typical Heupel that we know. Maybe he didn’t trust Nico and I mean we made the playoffs so not a terrible decision but we didn’t air that thing out like we are used to. That Oklahoma game for example had us all wondering why we are just playing not to lose when our defense basically won us the game. We took our foot off the gas pedal wayyy too much and I would rather us get out there and air it out. Back when we had Palmer, Jennings, Callaway it always amazed me we didn’t just give them a chance at a jump ball more because they more than not always came down with it. And you have the chance of a PI call. We now don’t have near as much talent but I think Matthews is that guy too so let’s see if we open it up. I’m scared our coach will just run and have them same little passes and screens. I’m thinking about 7 or 8 wins but when Faizon gets here it’s game on and we can get a natty. If he doesn’t watch this season and be like why am I going here

Not as much talent?

1) Absolute dude at WR that we didn't play last year for whatever reason....youth,injury,both?

2) IF healthy, the best combo at corner we've had in my lifetime.

3) Boo Carter at star.

4) Much improved OL. (Check NFL draft board for reference)

5) Replacing an underperforming 5* QB.

The idea that, just because we lost a bunch of 6th year seniors, we are going to see a big drop off is laughable to me.

He has to adapt to the players he has. I think that's what happened last year and in 2023 with Joe. Hendon processed quickly and on another level. We still had a really good year last year and while 2023 was a step back it wasn't a bad season. The defense has steadily improved each year as well. I'm expecting this year to resemble 2023 unless whoever is QB just clicks.

Corner is good yes, oline is unproven and haven’t played together much. Potential is there but gotta see it out. Boo carter didn’t do much last year. Has the talent but nothing to hold your hat on. Rb downgrade, Matthew’s didn’t play because he wasn’t the best option plain and simple. And yes Nico didn’t produce a lot but all y’all were on his nuts when we got him and i personally would’ve liked to see what he could’ve became. But he is gone and good riddance to him. D line won’t be near as good as well as linebacker and safety also. Just facts buddy
