QB Joey Aguilar commits to UT from portal

So...we take a QB from a bad football team that UCLA didn't want in exchange for our starting QB coming off a playoff team? And this is suppose to be a good thing?
Come back in the Fall when this saga plays out and tell us about your disappointment then.

HE left BECAUSE they took on Nico. They didn't get rid of him. Considering their lack of offense, I'd say they would have kept him and let them duke it out. Aguilar chose to look for a better opportunity.
Say what you want to believe....If he was their guy they wouldn't have gone after Nico. They didn't take Nico to be the backup. Nico has 2 years under his belt with a playoff team to boot from the SEC. The APP State QB was left out in the cold.

Several keep mentioning his interception numbers. Just my 2 cents, but anytime your having to push the ball down field or come from behind you set yourself up for more interceptions.
Nothing against Nicobut we had a lot of games where he made safe throws and played conservative. We relied heavily on the running game. Nico also had a few easy games we won big in which helps stats.
App state didn't have any blowouts. He threw 3000 plus yards in dog fights. Doesn't mean he will kill it at TN... All I'm saying is that his numbers could be hindered due to game time situation plays.

How many years of eligibility?
1, This is it he's like Diego Pavia played JUCO gets extra year lots of experience and I think he will be good in Josh's O. He moves well and reminds me more of Hendon in his movement. Just wish he'd had a chance to go through Spring ball. We just can't play a true freshman and Gmac looks better than Merk IMO who has just thrown 9 passes himself. I see 1 of those 2 freezing up in Atlanta vs Syracuse like Nate Peterman did when he got the start at Florida and it was 21 to 0 before 1st quarter.

I'm beginning to get comfortable with the pickup. It enables us to pay for a WR2 and a decent DB, maybe 2 if we find a bargain. That makes us come out ahead, IMO.
Here's to hoping being surrounded by SEC talent and superior coaching will make this young man rise to the next level.
Hooker, Milton, and even Nico is a good run of QBs. Hooker was lights out the most intensively fun QB we've ever had. His running made him better than Peyton was. Milton was a productive QB. Nico didn't do much, but he was an attention magnet, and that is worth big bucks and UT got the rub for having him.

He was the QB version of a trophy wife. His claim to fame was he was going to be so great Next Year. It might always be next year.

What I love about this kid is how fast he makes decisions. He gets the ball out quick and that's critical with Hueps offense.
That might be an understatement in how critical that apparently is. There might be another level to Huep's offense that we've not fully seen.

So you think UCLA doesn't need depth too - Nico is enough on his lone? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I saw him play against ga southern in statesboro last year. I like the move of adding a veteran in the locker room and I like adding depth, but this addition wasn't really a level up by any means.
