If I'm being honest, if we could have had only one between Rice and Ament, I'd have preferred Rice. He's physically more mature and proven at this level. Ament strikes me as one of those guys that will mature into a NBA player, but in his one year at UT, we'll get a glimpses here and there, but it won't be as beneficial to us as Rice would have been. Rice and Freeman as a pair would have been a better investment than Ament by himself I suspect.

If you look at my history ITT I am a big fan of his, but yeah for some reason he's not on our list. Missing a full season with a shoulder injury (after what we got from Key) might be part of the lack of interest.

Are we talking about Duke Miles? Miles and Rice are two very different offensive threats. Against legitimate competition Miles only got about 4-6 points per game, his best one with 10 points against Bama (30 points loss). Rice was in the mid teens and 20+ against ranked opponents

Don’t understand the willingness to pay Rice $1.5-2 million but not pursuing others of similar caliber. I think you need a bucket getter at the 2 guard. Not saying they have to be Chaz Lanier, but if not you’re banking on Ament to score 15-18 ppg at minimum.
