'25 QB transfer prospects (Joey Aguilar)

If its Aguilar he will be the starter. Merklinger has done absolutely nothing to think he would beat him out. He was 40% completion in the spring game. 6/15. So no, I dont wanna ride with Merk, as you all like to say
I remember the 2021 Spring Game. Harrison Bailey dominated, Brian Maurer was ok, and Hendon Hooker tossed a pick 6 and other than one decent TD throw to Tillman, he didn't look good at all.

Spring Games are the Ms Cleo of college football.

Disappointing news for sure. 8 wins max this year.
This is a ridiculous take. Did you forget that Hooker was nobody at Virginia tech? Did you forget that Nico had only 5 TDs in the SEC against teams not named Vanderbilt? Did you forget that we have like a 60% bluechip ratio across the board? We had a 46% in 2024. Y'all just love to be miserable.

Don’t think Nico was a cancer. His camp maybe, but not him.
If he was skipping practices and going along with his family's demands, as has been alleged by some, that makes him part of the cancer, IMO.

I still hope he sucks at UCLA. He and his family screwed us over.

Some of you who are clutching pearls about the picks need to understand something. Aguilar had an admittedly lesser year last season than the year before. That being said, he wasn’t any less accurate than Nico. He ran a different offense. It’s harder to throw picks when you’re overthrowing receivers and DBs by 8 yards. Does he need to cut back on the picks? Absolutely. He also threw some picks on plays similar to the last play in Fayetteville. Don’t think we will ever have to worry about him running out of bounds on the last play.

I'm fine with bringing in Aguilar as long as he's not handed QB1 without an open competition for the spot. If he wins the job, then so be it. However, I'm not convinced that he's any better than what we have.
This all day but he would probably make a quality backup.

Pass on Aguilar. Come on.

Save the NIL for defense and receivers.

Let merk and G handle it for a year.

Don’t waste $$$ on a QB like Aguilar.

Smells like desperation
We. Can’t. Have. Only. Two. Quarterbacks. On. The. Roster.

for Christs sake what is so hard about this for y’all to understand

Guess how many combined receptions the group you just listed has... 36 receptions. Brazzell had 29 and MM had 7. The last four names you mentioned have zero receptions. It could be a great group, but it is completely unknown at this point.
True. But going into 2021, Cedric Tillman had 8 career catches, Velus Jones had about 50 career catches in 5 years, and Jalin Hyatt had 20 career catches. They turned out fine. Talent will develop, and WR's will make plays.

I’m on record as saying that that if we went 4-8 I wouldn’t sweat it because of the way things have shaken out. I’m not sure how much I need to cope. I am sure that I’ve watched Aguilar play in person twice and on TV about 8-10 times over the last 2 years and that my very amateur eye thinks the picks aren’t really the whole story.

If we go 4-8 we can probably kiss Faizon bye, that would have us starting another rebuild

Uh, I’m usually a pretty optimistic dude, but I think you’re crazy if you think 4-8 would be something not to sweat lol. That would definitely see guys like Faizon look elsewhere and would reverse all the momentum we’ve had so far.

Obviously we’re not going 4-8, but I just hope you’re being facetious and don’t actually think something like that would be acceptable
