I know you didn't expect to see this in the off-season... but they just lost out on Lamar Wilkerson to one of their old rivals Indiana. Double L! The Kitty Kat fans were so certain they were getting him... posting pics of him and Pope walking a horse and jockey at Keeneland. Sucks to suck coal miners!
Don’t forget their top recruit coming in is likely going to St. John’s. I will say I like their roster much better than Florida and Auburn for next year. I have no clue what Florida is doing. They have zero guards for next year.
Yep, and this time it's about their loser fans posting loser takes. This thread is always lurking in the weeds, ready to strike at any moment
They have a solid roster, their problem is we also have a solid roster and vastly superior coaching. They’ve had lots of good rosters, but recent success? Not so much. It will take them a generation to get over having their asses handed to them by the good guys in the Sweet 16.Yep, and this time it's about their loser fans posting loser takes.
Many of them are actually saying we are bubble team this year.
Personally, I think they are in for a surprise.
They've got it in their head they should be preseason top 3 this year.
Yeah, I'm not seeing that. Couple good pickups in the portal, but nothing I see screams necessarily final four bound or anything.
I agree ( especially about the coaching), but I just found it funny many of them calling us a bubble team this year (even ones that said we probably make tournament had us a really high nunbered seed). That's some serious disrespect to coach Barnes, and what he has been doing here the last several years. They have a solid roster, their problem is we also have a solid roster and vastly superior coaching. You know good and darn well they don't believe that. I mean, I'm sure they believe they will be in the final 4 this year, he//, they say that every year, but no way to they believe we will be teetering on the verge of not making the NCAAT.
Just straight up hating.
Yeah, I believe KY probably the worse, tho.Oh I totally hear you. Kentucky and Memphis fans are the most delusional in the history of the sport. The lengths they will go to to self soothe despite all evidence to the contrary is hard to get your head around.
It's particularly good if you read the KSR preview for Georgetown.Man, this is funny.
Guy who works in my warehouse plays Kentucky Sports Radio every day. And the hype train has been pretty wild on there after their game with Purdue.
Cannot wait to hear their reaction tomorrow lol.
Patrick Ewing ain’t walkin’ through the door. Instead, it’s Ed Cooley, and his Dogs don’t stand a chance.
... there’s no way I am predicting anything but another beatdown in Lexington for the second preseason exhibition. The Hoyas may have a pair of preseason All-Big East guards against a thin Kentucky backcourt, but Kentucky still has a stacked roster and a home crowd that should fill the place like it is a Saturday night in February.
Georgetown is a considerable step down in competition from Purdue, still rebuilding under Ed Cooley; however, Cooley is a heck of a coach, and will wring every ounce of effort out of the Hoyas, who were picked to finish sixth in the Big East. It won’t be enough.
Kentucky is the obvious favorite here, but exhibitions so far this preseason have proven to be unpredictable. Don’t be shocked if the Hoyas keep this close or even sneak out with a win.
I won’t be calling for that, though.
Kentucky played 9, which might be something like the way they use their players for the regular season. They went 7-30 from distance, and 23-35 from the line (naturally they had 35 FT attempts to Georgetown's 23). Georgetown only hit 5 threes but were 31-56 from the field, with their frontcourt starters all playing 20 minutes or less but not missing a single shot (8-8 among the three). Preseason All Big East guards Malik Mack and KJ Lewis had 22 and 19 points respectively. If you're a Kentucky fan, you have to go into the season knowing you're going to have a few more nights like this.I like the Hoyas this year, but I do not like the Hoyas inside of Rupp Arena to wrap up the exhibition schedule. They keep it respectable early before the depth becomes overwhelming in the second half, allowing for the lead to balloon en route to the blowout 19-point victory ahead of regular season action.
