'25 QB transfer prospects (Joey Aguilar)

Good thing is, I didn't ask nor care! And I didn't say you were, you clearly weren't. I'm saying I wouldn't have said it either, but as a HC he probably needs to. Fans are going to have expectations one way or the other no matter what he says
Personally, I don't think CJH is an idiot.

We led the SEC in dropped passes, ….
we lead the sec in overthrowing wide open guys, holding the ball too long and running out of bounds to end the game. Then we made the playoffs. The coach that exceeds expectations every damn year says we’re a championship roster but a bunch of dufusses on VN says the sky is falling….

Who to believe…….

Where did he say we had a championship roster for 2025 after Nico left? I missed that. We don’t have that roster.

Could not be that he’s happy where he’s at and got a big raise to stay in the system he already knows
Yeah. I’m fully on board with being cynical about the motives of the modern college athlete, but I think some of the people on this board really need to accept that no, not every QB is going to come flying over here just because we wave money in their face. And that these programs can give the QBs incentives to stay if they look like they’re listening to our offers.

And plus, not many starting QBs want to let go of their guaranteed starting spot to potentially enter a QB battle and learn a system they’ve never ran before.

Let’s do some analysis on this.
He made the comment 3 weeks ago.
When was the spring game again?
Now some context…..the receivers didn’t become a problem just because Nico left last week.

That’s pretty much on the money.
Plus CJH has said he’s going to be picky. That’s if people listen to what he says. So if he feels he can be picky then Slinger must not be as far away as everyone is thinking

It’s far easier to believe that all these quarterbacks said, out loud, “you know, I’d gladly leave my teammates and coaches in a lurch for more money if only you had one more WR”

I mean seriously. Who in the world thinks that legitimately happened? Who thinks that the TCU kid, or his agent, or anyone associated with him told somebody that and that somebody repeated it to Tony Basilio?

This place boggles the mind.

If it was a concern for Nico, why wouldn't it be one for any potential incoming transfer Portal QB. If you were a veteran QB and looked at our returning WR production, would that not cause concerns? It definitely would for me. Literally Brazzell is the only one with any kind of starting experience. Mathews got some more towards the end of the season, but not enough to instill confidence.

Some yall have too little faith. Run game will be strong again. Defense will be as well. Just need a game manager in here to win 9 games
I'm waiting for the "6-6, 7-5" guys to list the 5-6 games we would lose this season.

I cant believe our staff doesn’t see the issue with the wr room, they dont even seem to have an urgency about boosting that spot. We honestly might be screwed this year
Its unreal

Just status quo in that building. Outside of the guys he inherited early on the WRs have been ass under Heupel. All “his” guys are terrible so far

Butch and Pruitt had better “playmakers”

I personally don't see any more than 3 losses, but if we can lose to Arkansas with the team we had last year, there's always a few road games that could sneak up on us. I highly doubt it, but also not impossible either

But this misses the point entirely. None of these starting QBs that people are clamoring for are even getting to the point of evaluating our talent. It’s just not happening and definitely not being “reported”. People may speculate the motives, but the reality is that these guys are happy where they are, are compensated well, and fully entrenched at their positions and in their programs.

TLDR - they don’t give two S…ts what our WR rotation looks like.

Latest rumor is he turned us down I believe
Where did you hear this? Last I had heard we were rounding 3rd with him. Obviously that doesn't mean anything, but thought we had a shot with him. Looks like Angeli is next up if Altmyer says nope

Basillio absolutely reported this. Not saying it's right or not right, but we've supposedly been talking to guys since last weekend through back channels. If I'm a transfer QB, the offensive help is the absolute first thing I'm looking at. He said we had 2 interested QB's looking at our WR Depth with concerns.

Not to defend the doomers but 7-5 really isn’t impossible if we don’t get a great QB in the portal. Cuse week 1 shouldn’t be taken lightly, and OU added a lot of firepower to their offense via the portal, so they could catch us too.

Before anybody jumps on me I’m not saying it’ll happen. I think we’ll find a good QB and go 8-4 or 9-3, maybe even 10-2 again if the stars align. But I’m just playing devils advocate.

But trusting the claims of Nico's camp and TB... lol

Which road games, though? Kentucky? Mississippi State? Those are the only other road games we have besides Bama and Florida. Heupel has been pretty much unbeatable at home for everyone not named Georgia the last few years. I mean, literally, which 5-6 of these games are we going to lose even with Merk at QB?
Syracuse in Atlanta
ETSU
Georgia
UAB
@Miss St
Arky
@bama
@kentucky
Oklahoma
NM St
@Florida
Vandy

I am once again asking this fanbase to quit treating Cuse like they’re some FCS team that we’re going to beat by 1000 points
I never said they were. They no longer have Kyle McCord, though, and one of their top returning WRs is in the portal plus other losses. I think we are a better team than they are right now, and I think we will win that game. It may not be a blowout but I'll be surprised if we lose to them.
