we lead the sec in overthrowing wide open guys, holding the ball too long and running out of bounds to end the game. Then we made the playoffs. The coach that exceeds expectations every damn year says we’re a championship roster but a bunch of dufusses on VN says the sky is falling….We led the SEC in dropped passes, ….
Where did he say we had a championship roster for 2025 after Nico left? I missed that. We don’t have that roster.we lead the sec in overthrowing wide open guys, holding the ball too long and running out of bounds to end the game. Then we made the playoffs. Who to believe…….
Who to believe??
Yeah. I’m fully on board with being cynical about the motives of the modern college athlete, but I think some of the people on this board really need to accept that no, not every QB is going to come flying over here just because we wave money in their face. And that these programs can give the QBs incentives to stay if they look like they’re listening to our offers.View attachment 736799
Could not be that he’s happy where he’s at and got a big raise to stay in the system he already knows
Let’s do some analysis on this.Where did he say we had a championship roster for 2025 after Nico left? I missed that. We don’t have that roster.
That’s pretty much on the money.Yeah. And plus, not many starting QBs want to let go of their guaranteed starting spot to potentially enter a QB battle and learn a system they’ve never ran before.

If it was a concern for Nico, why wouldn't it be one for any potential incoming transfer Portal QB. If you were a veteran QB and looked at our returning WR production, would that not cause concerns? It definitely would for me. Literally Brazzell is the only one with any kind of starting experience. Mathews got some more towards the end of the season, but not enough to instill confidence. It’s far easier to believe that all these quarterbacks said, out loud, “you know, I’d gladly leave my teammates and coaches in a lurch for more money if only you had one more WR”
I mean seriously. Who in the world thinks that legitimately happened? Who thinks that the TCU kid, or his agent, or anyone associated with him told somebody that and that somebody repeated it to Tony Basilio?
This place boggles the mind.
Its unrealI cant believe our staff doesn’t see the issue with the wr room, they dont even seem to have an urgency about boosting that spot. We honestly might be screwed this year
I personally don't see any more than 3 losses, but if we can lose to Arkansas with the team we had last year, there's always a few road games that could sneak up on us. I highly doubt it, but also not impossible eitherI'm waiting for the "6-6, 7-5" guys to list the 5-6 games we would lose this season.

Basillio absolutely reported this. Not saying it's right or not right, but we've supposedly been talking to guys since last weekend through back channels. If I'm a transfer QB, the offensive help is the absolute first thing I'm looking at. He said we had 2 interested QB's looking at our WR Depth with concerns. But this misses the point entirely. None of these starting QBs that people are clamoring for are even getting to the point of evaluating our talent. It’s just not happening and definitely not being “reported”. People may speculate the motives, but the reality is that these guys are happy where they are, are compensated well, and fully entrenched at their positions and in their programs.
TLDR - they don’t give two S…ts what our WR rotation looks like.
Not to defend the doomers but 7-5 really isn’t impossible if we don’t get a great QB in the portal. Cuse week 1 shouldn’t be taken lightly, and OU added a lot of firepower to their offense via the portal, so they could catch us too.I'm waiting for the "6-6, 7-5" guys to list the 5-6 games we would lose this season.

But trusting the claims of Nico's camp and TB... lolBut this misses the point entirely. Which road games, though? Kentucky? Mississippi State? Those are the only other road games we have besides Bama and Florida. Heupel has been pretty much unbeatable at home for everyone not named Georgia the last few years. I mean, literally, which 5-6 of these games are we going to lose even with Merk at QB?I personally don't see any more than 3 losses, but if we can lose to Arkansas with the team we had last year, there's always a few road games that could sneak up on us. I never said they were. They no longer have Kyle McCord, though, and one of their top returning WRs is in the portal plus other losses. I think we are a better team than they are right now, and I think we will win that game. It may not be a blowout but I'll be surprised if we lose to them.I am once again asking this fanbase to quit treating Cuse like they’re some FCS team that we’re going to beat by 1000 points
