I think every person that is wrongfully arrested for anything should be able to sue and win monetary damages. I almost sued myself when it happened to me, but they released me before they actually hauled me to jail, so I let it go.

They need to abolish qualified immunity.

I asked a sub for his tax id information today. He’s relatively new and had given it to me when I started using him but I misplaced it. He started giving me everything you think of. I said calm down dude , what’s wrong with you? He said “just trying to stay legal….don’t want to get deported.

See how the supreme court rules first. If that doesn't work then push a bill through congress quickly while you have a slim majority in the house. Put language in that states that the child is a U.S. citizen, but the other family members aren't given rights to stay permanently as citizens. If it stands then most will never come here solely for the purpose of having a child so everyone gets to stay.

State's custody? No need, and it's best to avoid that. The whole family can leave and the kid can come back when he or she is 18 if they want.

I actually think it's perfectly reasonable to say that birthright citizen should not apply to children of illegal immigrants, but it would absolutely require a constitutional amendment. IIRC, the 14th amendment was ratified before the federal government even started regulating immigration, so it's not really possible to sincerely argue it wouldn't have applied to the children of illegal immigrants.
