Safety play has been garbage for years overall

I think our IOL is potentially a level above last season. We loved Spraggins, but Pendleton is better. Karic to Moe is clear upgrade. Satterwhite is unproven but more advanced an athlete than Cooper May.

OL depends on health but I expect it will be better.
QB last year was honestly Mediocre, so definitely a possibility to be better
WR- Mathew’s should be better than any that played last year, Brazell should improve
RB— no Sampson superstar but , by committee behind an improved line should be fine. Especially if we land a quick minded high football IQ QB.

The issue is if we need better talent then we didn’t necessarily need to retain Christian Charles. So, it can’t be both. He was a good depth player, but he was not really highly recruited.

Turrentine, Ja Thomas, Jo Thomas, Farooq, Beasley

All are Safeties that I’d guess are ahead of Slaughter and Charles.

Star has Boo, Beasley, and some of the freshmen DBs

So my two cents is… it sucks when guys leave the program. But it feels like both are pursuing playing time because they have been recruited over here (even if our Safety recruiting isn’t quite to the level fans want to see). I wish Charles and Slaughter the best and hope they get PT in their next stops.
