The ECB is expected to cut interest rates for the 7th time, and yet, “Too Late” Jerome Powell of the Fed, who is always TOO LATE AND WRONG, yesterday issued a report which was another, and typical, complete “mess!” Oil prices are down, groceries (even eggs!) are down, and the USA is getting RICH ON TARIFFS. Too Late should have lowered Interest Rates, like the ECB, long ago, but he should certainly lower them now. Powell’s termination cannot come fast enough!

From Donald Trump Truth Social 04/17/25 06:12 AM

Trump is hoping lower rates cause a sugar high, but doesn't understand, or doesn't want to admit, it would add to the inflationary pressures he is causing.

Between Powell, who has studied this his whole life and is a professional, versus Trump, who has bankrupted six businesses, I'll go with Powell.

inflation went from over 5% under Biden down to .7% under Trump. European bank has already lowered rated multiple times.....Powell needs to be gone...

It matters that she was swapped since the tweet omitted that. The comparable purported crimes and value of swapped prisoners can matter, e.g. with Griner and Bout.
I’m not sure I care who we swap to get an American citizen back. Let’s try it this way. You get seized by a government because you have…..make up a BS reason….do you think your mother would care if we swapped a terriorist to get you back?
I’ll answer ahead of you. I’d not give one **** who we swapped to get you home.

Edit: Griner was a good example. It sucked that the deal was made and we gave that guy up. (He should have been dead long ago) but I would have made that deal to bring her home

I have no problem with this trade. I don't think it was in our best interest to trade Griner for Bout.

Maybe not but I’ll go all in to get Americans back , especially if I feel like they’re being railroaded for being Americans. And I feel like she was.
Railroaded for being an American? That has certainly happened to some people, but not Griner. She shouldn't have been stupid enough to take illegal drugs into Russia.

The ones she had a prescription for or the legal vape she had on her?

The drugs she took to Russia that ARE ILLEGAL in Russia.
Again. The drugs she had a prescription for or the legal vape?
Remember, she was charged for the method of transporting it and not so much the drugs themselves. Had they been in her declared container then there would have been no issues.

She was railroaded ans a political pawn very shortly before the Ukraine invasion. Plain and simple. Maybe we gave up too much to get her back but I really don’t care. I want my government to protect it’s citizens.

Was she treated any different than any other person in her situation? Also, you should always make sure you know the laws about "drugs" before you travel abroad.

What she had was legal with a prescription. She had her prescription with her. It was in her carry on luggage by mistake instead of the check baggage.
Jailing her for that is beyond ridiculous.
Any other Russian in her situation would have been given a pass. It was absolutely political.

According to google marijuana is NOT legal in Russia even if you have a prescription. Our laws don’t supersede theirs in their country . That falls under personal responsibility to me.

Rush Limbaugh called this out years ago....the fake media creates its own fake polls to then report those fake polls as 'news'.....these polls are as fake as the media's claim of Biden's sharp mental acumen.

Rasmussen;
"Surveys from CNN, CBS, ABC and the Washington Post, NBC and the New York Times" ... can all be safely ignored.

Accept no substitute for accuracy in polling.

None of these have explained this or apologized ...

And yet you can apply for and get a permit to take it into Russia. Which is what I’ve done for a different medicine and what she did.
You’re correct in that she should not have had it in her personal belongings and should have checked it as required but it’s not like she said “**** it, I’m taking weed to Russia “.

The vape was legal. She had a prescription for medical marijuana in Arizona. Guess what? That doesn't make it legal to then carry that marijuana into a foreign country. Marijuana is illegal in Russia, and she was arrested and prosecuted for it. Was the sentence harsh? Yes. That's the risk you take when you do idiotic things like transport drugs into a foreign country.

Your story is not consistent with the reported facts.

From a CNN Story that I will link:
At trial, Griner testified she has a doctor’s prescription for medical cannabis and had no intention of bringing the drug into Russia. Following her detention in February, she was tested for drugs and was clean, her lawyers previously said.

“We continue to insist that, by indiscretion, in a hurry, she packed her suitcase and did not pay attention to the fact that substances allowed for use in the United States ended up in this suitcase and arrived in the Russian Federation,” Boykov, of Moscow Legal Center, has said.

You claim she got a license to bring medical marijuana to Russia. She and lawyers claim she packed it accidentally. Which is it? Why would she get a permit for something she supposedly never intended to take in the first place? Also, everthing I have seen says that she had no permit and she was charged for the drugs themselves and transporting them into the country.
