Man I miss ketchup in glass bottles. These squeeze things are in controllable. Same for every squeeze bottle in my old hands. Yeah old man yelling at clouds.
I love this place. Where else can you get totally rando commentary like this.

I'm not picking on you CAV, I'm serious. I love this place because of folks like you that make it thoroughly entertaining...

What? Hooker was a transfer and people had to wait. Milton was a transfer and people had to wait. Nico came to UT and people were behind him, waiting and hoping for a chance. What is with everyone? Nobody is stealing anyone. The system is that people move around freely to wherever they want to go now. Like it or not and I don't necessarily like it, but that is the system
Thats the problem and current difference. No one is going to wait once they have a perceived value. Train those 2 QB's to anywhere near SEC capable and they are instantly marketable. They don't need to join the portal to get offers. Grab a top junior, ride him for a year.

Everyboddy clamoring to bring is someone of Robertson's caliber, that we already have two to fit that bill. Soon as you sign him, one of the other two is gone immediately and you're right back where you started. Bunch of dumb a**es in here. We got 2 high level QB's, one of which will be fine by the time the blow off games are done.
Why would either leave if TN brought in a 1yr guy? Both our current QB's were expecting to sit this year anyway and where would either go that they won't sitting a bench anyway.
You're kidding yourself if you think either has shown enough to go start some place unless it's below mid

The situation is forcing UT to steal a player from another team because we are willing to spend more money. There is no point in training these 2 rookies other than for backup. The minute you train a QB, his value increases and another team will purchase him. This current system demands purchasing a junior QB with heavy experience at the end of every season. We are behind the 8 ball in this situation.
Tennessee isn’t “stealing” anyone. Hell I’m not mad at UCLA if they sign Nico. UCLA isn’t to blame, Nico is.

Pruitt left him some really good talent on the roster. We won with it in '22 and have been relying on it, especially the OL, until this year. This is now all Heupel's roster. Let's see what he does with his chosen roster and coaching staff.

No, wait. Because of Nico...his recruit...doing him dirty, he gets a pass for the upcoming season, right? So we will say he's on the clock in '26? Fair enough.
Sure. Why don't we just start the double decade of ineptitude again and get the carousel going early? I mean they lost both primary running backs to the portal and some backup QBs. You had Harrison Bailey as the only QB on the roster. You had unproven running backs. There were some decent WRs, but CJH developed them. He has also brought in some pretty impressive WRs himself. The roster wasn't quite as flush as you seem to remember. That doesn't even mention the defensive side.

It was depleted, but clearly there was talent still. Hooked, Tillman, Hyatt, etc. Heupel came in and utilized them correctly.
If you want to put Hooker under Pruitt's umbrella, fine. He wasn't ready at the start and took a few games under CJH to come into his own in the offense.

This is the thing people might as well go ahead and accept. GMac is not going to sit for 4 years waiting for Merk to graduate, and Merk is not going to stick around if he's passed by an under-classman.

Depending on how good Faizon Brandon is, they may BOTH transfer within the next two years.
yep. Focus needs to be to find a qb to get us through 2025, whether that guy is on the roster or not, and then figure out the room again come January.

Frankly, I don’t care if Barney Fife comes as long as (1) he can read a defense and (2) can get the ball where it needs to go.

Sure, it would be nice to have some one who can use their kegs, but every time Nico ran last year, I was waiting for him to be taken our with a big hit.

He's a senior. This is it for him.

That lessens the threat of Merk and G-Mac leaving.
I believe the bigger picture is what could happen with our stud 26 QB. If Heupel brings in a senior with 1 year left, we may be safe. If he brings in someone with multiple years left, we could be losing our 26 QB rather quickly.

We're probably between a rock and a hard place going forward with these QB's. I'm just gonna hide and watch it all play out.

You do remember that Heupel came here and took over a completely depleted roster. He has built this program from scratch. He followed Beldar, not Nick Saban.
Evidently not, lol on the “talent evaluators “ on here, Heupel has been a blessing compared with the last 20 yrs.
