Pete Hegseth, Trump Dept of Defense nominee…

Hmm. Except the whole, time, day and possible locations. Which is not what you saw in the casual text. One actually put officers in direct harms way and the other is a text of times. Nice reach on this one.

Good to know you sympathize with terrorist over American officers.
time and day was released with the Yemen stuff too. he literally says F18s are taking off at this time.

you guys argued all over about the locations being impossible to determine for a military strike in a foreign country being less important/mission critical than the possible locations of a police raid in the US.

the military strike has a ton more risk associated in it, and it was the person in charge doing the leaking. but some low level staffer leaking some info on a low level raid here in the states is a line too far.

just like it was predicted, same act by a low level person gets crucified.

But does it have to be classified if it's incomplete?

Information is information. It doesn't have to be complete to be classified. Enemies can piece together information from multiple sources - this is beat into the heads of everyone going through security training in the military.

There was a semi-famous study done by NCIS at a naval base where agents were able to piece together several ships' complete deployment schedules just by walking around the base exchange/commissaries and listening to conversations.

The question, as I understand it, is whether the information HAD TO BE classified, not whether it COULD HAVE BEEN classified.

Beats getting executed.

My opinion, based on the references I posted a couple pages back, is that the information should have been classified, and SECDEF should have classified that information based on DOD Policy and the effective presidential EO.

Chevy Tahoe Kelly doesn’t care and neither do any of the liberals here. This is their distraction to shift away from the debacle of their own party. They want it to be a big deal with the “what if” scenarios while they didn’t hold their own party accountable.
Agreed. This is distraction politics.

Generally, the discretion of classification is left up to the policy of the administration there is one potential gotacha as there is a different method under the Atomic Energy Act of 1954. In summary, the only one that can have any real recourse here is Trump if he doesn't like the decisions made here, he could either reprimand him or fire him, generally speaking.

People act like this is some crazy complex process here, it really isn't... any complexity would be at the lower ground level.

I can probably tell you when classified material was most likely released on the spot in front of the media. Vance talking to the midget in the oval office. When the Midget started throwing his tantrum... Vance most likely released classified material as to the real state of affairs in the Ukraine... no weapon storage exists anymore and you have no meat... .time is up.

In general it is quite common to never have a “complete” picture with any one team or group. This is the basis behind the compartmentalization methodology common in SCI cleared activities.

This is very common in systems development then one design team never has the complete picture.

It absolutely passes the bar, easily even, for classification and the idiots in the admin screeching that it wasn’t classified information are gas lighting the public.

On Friday’s broadcast of CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) responded to a question on if he called for then-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley to resign over his conversations with China over a possible American attack by saying Milley only did so “Because he was so concerned about signals that the Chinese believed we were about to” attack.

After an exchange over whether Coons called for the resignation of then-Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin over other issues, co-host Joe Kernen asked, “When Gen. Milley said he would tell China if we were ever going to launch an attack –.”

Coons then cut in to say, “Because he was so concerned about signals that the Chinese believed we were about to.”

Kernen then cut in to ask, “[Y]ou don’t have a problem with him giving them a heads up and telling the Chinese leaders, you’ll hear from me if anything’s planned?”

Coons responded, “I think you’re mischaracterizing that exchange.”

Oh really?

Where were the cops/ICE raids taking off from?

This is the whole point. You guys have multiple standards going on. I think they should both be held to the same standard, if not more for Hegseth because he is higher up and deserves less leniency

They were in Denver, which was stated by the journalist. so again, you sympathize with terrorists, and not with Americans in harms way.

But it’s awesome that you can’t answer the question.

The same way you can't answer. Denver isn't a specific location. It's a city with more than 3 million people in the metro area. I am willing to bet they have more than one precinct.

You are the one sympathizing with terrorists. You think it's ok for the government to leak attacks on them. I am saying the opposite. I am saying it's a much bigger deal in Yemen because it involves terrorists.

I think they BOTH should be punished, you think only one should. But keep defending the Houthis having a chance to get totally not classified information because someone can group chat them

Absolutely answered. If you’re an illegal in Denver get out or get armed.

I like Pete.

He was just in the Philippines a few days ago and got to meet with some people I know.

Also paid respects to WW2 memorial in Manila.
