k-mart is putting nico on discount (my theory is that the nico team needs a cash infusion because they neglected to pay taxes)

Lmao that Nicos Dad and Uncle "negotiated" his way from $2.5M a year this year and next into $1M a year at a lesser school...vs lesser competition. Thats a $3M loss over 2 years by itself. Then factor in the difference in the rookie pay scale (which is fixed by draft position due to collective bargaining agreement) so if Nico plays at a smaller school and ends up getting drafted in the 4th or 5th round instead of maybe 1st or 2nd round coming out of UT....thats a couple million a YEAR fixed for 3 years on his rookie contract. Maybe more. Nico let his family likely cost him $10M or more and almost certainly cost him $3M just in college because I dont see anybody paying him more than $1M a year.

Wanna know why?

He had 19TDs and 5INTs last year, almost identical to Joe the season before (20, 5)

BUT against SEC teams Nico had only 9TDs passing in 8 games with 3INTs. Ouch. 1.125TDs per game...but wait...take out the Vandy game and Nico had only 5TDs and 2INT vs 7 SEC teams. Yeah. Less than 1 per game. Over 7/8ths of our SEC schedule. That doesn't scream "elite QB" since he played in CJH offense where 2 seasons prior Hooker had 37TDs and 3INT without playing Vandy or the bowlgame. Granted thats comparing a senior to a RS freshman.

I got lucky and get to meet with the IRS after todays deadline and receiving a letter that a form was inaccurate. My CPA cant even tell what they want...Ottabfun..

Dont think Ole TJ at the Texico would of been able to swing it.

reminder.,need to get a MAGA hat and wear it.

Got 6 more months earning 4-5% at SPAXX on 24 liability plus plus no estimated tax payments til November. ...

whats more is he is likely not going to end up in a state with no state income tax like TN.

only 8 in the country, and I don't see him going to Alaska, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, or Wyoming. Probably not sticking around in TN either.

its very interesting see all these schools allegedly saying no, or at least not at the demanded price tag.

I jinxed myself. Now an argument can be made that I got over it quickly because of general health, but I got sick as hell 2 nights ago. It was awful. Rapidly throwing it over and over. Coming out the other end. Just bad.
At work after lunch yesterday so a 12 hour sickness.

The red woman had it Saturday. I thought I got away unscathed….wrong.

someone is using your joke you posted yesterday or day before today in the recruiting forum. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

So is a national sports guy on youtube. Pretty sure it was Pate...but could have been the ON3 guys. They say thats Nicos best option lmao. To just show up and get back to work, pretend it never happened. I find that hilarious.

Listen, at 20 or 21yo Nico is not a kid anymore and should be held responsible for his actions like everyone else. I can't help but feel sorry for him though. He is a timid and quiet guy by nature...his dad is overbearing and loud etc from what I can gather. I think his dad was behind all of this, especially telling him to skip practice friday. Nico was at Halzes house for a BBQ with the other QBs on Thursday night. By all accounts was his normal self and a good time was had by all...that makes me think his dad told him to skip practice the next morning and the OnW game too if he didnt get more $$$. This is after the family (including Nico) apparently threatened to boycott the playoff game if we didn't give Nico $4M a year. Coach Hype didnt blink and told them flatly "No.". I think "Big Nick" is likely responsible for all of this crap. Sucks for Nico. UNC, Tulane, and others have said publicly they aren't gonna sign Nico. Once dad drops the price to the $1M a year range, there are allegedly a few teams who have said they're interested. Bad situation all the way around for just about everyone...EXCEPT Jake Merklinger. Bet he is smiling from ear to ear. Good for him. He stuck it out, waited his turn, and now hes gonna get his shot IMO as QB1 to start the season. Bet he puts up as good stats as Nico/Joe did the last 2 seasons. Gonna need a good running game and good defense again.
