I think they did everything right but I would have paid him from get go and never let it get here. By all accounts we was a model leader and teammate and potential heisman winner qb. Yes he got greedy but what stars arenāt right now. I maybe would have just compromised and upped him to 3 something. Instead weāll have to pay that same amount to someone not necessarily better and doesnāt know our system or any of their potential new teammates or roll with the freshman. I think culture is important but also keep your best assets happy even if you have to go a little farther than you want. I canāt believe he didnāt show up to practice. That tells me the university wasnāt interested in paying him more or seriously pursuing wr help in the portal. Otherwise how do you get off the same page so quickly?im not saying one side is more or less wrong than the other, Im just shocked it didnāt get resolved and was allowed to reach this point of discombobulation.
