A big part of that is Augusta itself. If Nantz talked all over it, they'd cut him loose.I was just coming to say this.
Too many announcers try to talk over big moments. I love the way Nantz always let's the crowd tell the story. More announcers need to take notes.
A lot of the assessment of him comes from the advanced stats (strokes gained, etc). Last year in particular his numbers in a bunch of those stats were staggering compared to the competition. “Only” one major but won 8 other times, won Olympic gold, won the FedEx Cup again, had 3 T10s in the majors.People act like Scottie schefler has never lost
But he only has 2 majors? And has only won at one event?
Yikes!!
Rory is about to go on a run now that the monkey is off his backA lot of the assessment of him comes from the advanced stats (strokes gained, etc). The thing people do with him and other golfers is just assume he’ll keep playing like this (which is a huge assumption - just look at Spieth, JT, Rory for years). If he does, he’ll win several more majors. He didn’t even play all that well last week and lost by 3 shots. But there have been a bunch of guys tagged as a guy who can win 7 or 8 majors and haven’t. Maybe Rory still can, who knows. It seemed like a 1000-pound weight was lifted off his shoulders Sunday.
Just like Nico wasn’t back channeling the last 4 months? Come on man. Not being in the portal does not mean not being in contact.
If the coaching staff had some feeling this was coming, it’s fair to say they’ve gauged interest with other guys.
