Europe and East and Southeast Asia are doing pretty well, well enough to send a lot of tourists overseas every year.

We travel a lot. We've been but won't go to Russia again. I don't like hot weather so haven't been to the Caribbean 25-30 years. Only been to Egypt in Africa.
Had Covid 2 times since 21.

Why aren't you traveling?

Avoiding Russia sounds wise. Wouldn't want to get arrested there for nothing and end up as bait for a prisoner swap.
Was the food there edible when you visited?

You ever been to a ski resort? Vegas? Orlando?

I think it has more to do with the European economy. I read that the average income in some of those countries has fallen below the average income in Mississippi. If this is true, it would explain a lot of this. I mean how many dirt farmers in Mississippi are planning European vacations?

Just repeating what the numbers say. The vast majority go New York, California and Florida in that order.

Ya, I’ve been everywhere, man.

The Grand Canyon is very much like Niagara Falls and mammoth cave. You see that in one day, as you’re traveling to somewhere else.

Do you think if none of the things I mentioned are struggling at the moment, it negates the gripe? If it's even 5% of business and doesn't induce "struggling" you understand it's still significantly bad for us, right?

It's still cold at the GC right now. You got people planning for years/months to come and hopefully they don't cancel. They may be locked in now and next year is whe n it will hurt. Busy season is just now starting, so nobody knows anything yet. Record numbers last year. 3/4 of a B to the local economy in 2023. Again, 1/3 of visitors are international. So if we lose just 10% of them, that's $25m.

I’m a traveler. I do it a lot.
When places start sending me emails offering a deal to come visit I’ll let you know.
2008 was the last time that happened.

There still remains the problem with his logic. The fact that there are poor people has no bearing on what the people with money do. He has to conclude they are representative for it to mean anything.

I know. I spent a few of years in the Delta, partnered with people from Mississippi, had a number of clients, and one of my very best friends in the world is from Belzoni.

I love it when "experts" about someplace they have no clue about start pontificating about it.
