Todd and Dunn of Ga Tech, Dunn was rated the 8th best player in the portal until Fulwiley got in dropped a couple places. She average 16 and 6 rebounds on 49 percent shooting and 35 from the three. Todd 43 percent and 43 from the three both have a lot better stats than the one that visited today.Off the top of my head because all those teams beat us, some more than once. All had better league finishes and higher tourney seedlings than us. That’s my definition of teams to chase. Yours obviously varies.
Remind me the good guards we’re still in on.
At first I wasn’t sure about Todd bc of her defense but after the last few names out there, I’d take her in a heartbeat. Dunn would also be a no brainer.Todd and Dunn of Ga Tech, Dunn was rated the 8th best player in the portal until Fulwiley got in dropped a couple places. We lose a **** ton of our 3 point shooting with those 3! For a system that has a constant green light from beyond the arc, it’ll seem like we would prioritize trying to replace that shooting with capable shooters.latham and spearman as our bigs (as of now) plus possibly signing a 5'7 guard who has poor shooting percentages...so we're going with super small ball in the SEC. and no pure shooters (yet).
she really needs to make something shake here. there's still time but i think we may be underestimating some of the shooting we lost in spear, darby and spencer...
right that's why i'm wondering what we're doing with these small 5'7 guards who have poor shooting numbers. todd made sense to me. but these newer names i am concerned...you cant be 5'7 play in the SEC and have no shooting. you've gotta be a shooter or they'll just pack the paint --and the 5'7 guards will try to penetrate and have their stuff swattedWe lose a **** ton of our 3 point shooting with those 3! Someone can attempt to come and gaslight me into thinking we’re fine. Do we even know if Todd really visited btw? I don’t remember seeing anything official, I could have missed it.
I saw us as needing consistent three point shooters and post players. At the time being seems I was way off track on that. Looks like were going for smaller type players that are athletic can play defense, but are poor shooters and rebounders. We lose a **** ton of our 3 point shooting with those 3! Wow what a fun team to follow!I saw us as needing consistent three point shooters and post players. At the time being seems I was way off track on that. Looks like were going for smaller type players that are athletic can play defense, but are poor shooters and rebounders.
You can bet the House they are not hearing the KLU version of reality on recruiting visits.I think a lot depends on which games of ours some of these players watched this season. There were some games that anyone could watch and be impressed and think, "That looks intense, but exciting ... and they seem to be having fun." In those games it was clear that the system worked, and everything was great.
But if these portal players missed those games and, instead, caught games like that disastrous Georgia home loss, then the impression they got was Not. Good. At. All. If our worst games -- and we all know those were not a good look for the system -- are being shown to them by anti-LV folks, then, yes, some kids might not be interested in playing within Kim's system.
You just never know what lens these kids are looking at Tennessee through, and to whom they are listening.
