So to recap what we’ve done for CFB since 2017:

-Showed other schools you can raise enough hell to prevent terrible hires being trotted out

-Sued the NCAA and won, further neutering their influence and tyranny over the sport

-Refused to be held hostage by an entitled player in the NIL space and held our ground, creating powerful precedent in an otherwise lawless and chaotic landscape

You may be right on Arkansas. Well there that theory goes. I can’t keep up with my day to day things. I can’t keep up with the college landscape. 😂

IMO, the family got mad because the couldn’t double dip the NIL when Tennessee didn’t recruit Madden. My guess is that Nico goes to UCLA with his brother.

The $4M request and tactics have backfired through in public opinion and with the university. They thought the staff thought of Nico in the light of the greats of Tennessee history. He was nowhere near that.

I think Merk will be good by the time he leaves though.

Vol fans are going to be stuck with a Freshman QB that has some talent but no experience. That’s not good when you consider they are rebuilding the WR, OL, and RB’s positions. It could get really ugly next season.

I don’t think Nico was worth the extra $$ but that doesn’t mean we’ll be fine in 2025. We’ll take a step back as I would also be surprised to see us pay for a proven QB. Very much looking at a rebuilding year and need to stock talent for 2026 if we can hold onto it.
