Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Meh. It's worse than the NFL now. At least they have a cap and it's a known when free agency, trades etc..

This is just dumb.

I really don't care. Stay. Go. Either way.

Definitely lost its luster over the last few years. Gone are the days of watching players develop and grow on your team.

“So and so is looking good. Can’t wait to see him next fall.”

There’s a good chance the guy you’re pumped to watch improve will be on another squad soon. I don’t get excited about recruiting, transfers, or practice reports anymore.

How crazy would this turn out, during the first timeout of the Tennessee-Illinois game, Altmyer came on the court with a microphone to announce his return to Illinois in 2025. We broke their hearts that day and possibly again next week. Would be a weird turn of events...
I didn’t even know that happened 🤣

He’s driving around in a dang near 200 thousand dollar car and complaining about the amount of money he is making after losing every big road game he played in. Win at Arkansas and then holler about more money.

He can’t hit a deep ball, can’t make quick decisions, and doesn’t have the leadership qualities you need in a QB.

I’m venting at this point, but this is NOT professional sports. Binding contracts where the player loses money if they pull a stunt like this are necessary!

Car of choice?… will tell me a lot about him with the money he’s making..that’s all I need 🤣🤣🤌🏽

I think Tennessee made a decision they would not participate in the back and forth anymore. Sounds like they've made their offer and are sticking to it. As leverage Nico has cut contact.

Sounds like the negotiations have concluded, now it's time for decisions. Kind of doubtful that lines haven't been crossed to the point of no return.

You never say never but I struggle to find a way back to this team for him.
I dunno... Hubbs' comment has me thinking the bridge has burned

Well, I'm not sad for Nico.
He may be influenced by an overbearing, shady father and greedy handlers, but Nico is now old enough to step up and be a man and assert his own desires.
He's an adult now. And a millionaire to boot. He's just as culpable as anyone in this sh!t show IMO.

I dont understand how it got here, or why he'd go to USC. Why did he bother with Spring Practice? What a weird situation. Like why go to all that trouble.
He might not be that bright. Could also explain our middle school offense we ran last year that this whole board griped about all season. Makes more sense than Heupel forgot how to coach offense.

This has the potential to be crippling. If Nico bolts (which seems almost inevitable now), Danny, Josh, and Spyre are really gonna be tested to keep this thing from going right back into the ditch.
I’m thinking when he and his family came to the table during the beginning of winter offseason, that they knew to have a plan in place going forward. I know I would.
