Tennessee & Nico Iamaleava are in active contract negotiations ahead of the 2025 season

Isn't it funny that when Tennessee actually makes a headline it's something like this
Except for when Tennessee made a headline by winning the CWS. Or when Tennessee made a headline by making the college football playoff. Or when Tennessee made the headline by beating Alabama a buzzer beater. Or when Tennessee made a headline by making the Elite .

No need for the woe is us stuff.

Agreed! We have so many fans that think the world, The SEC , ESPN , refs and all analysts are anti TN. It's just simply not true and those types are as annoying as this Nico $hit. I completely agree with you!

To be honest Nico was good for about 20 points per game, for the other team. Overthrown passes, poor decisions, etc.

We do get a lot of news either way. I remember our football team getting hyped to the high heavens after we beat NC State last year.

The only way this works out for Nico is if he lands at a superstar program with a starting job. Otherwise, it just looks stupid and will limit him even more.

GMs also pay attention to this crap. You think a GM is going to be happy with somebody who has already been a hold out before they even got into the NFL?

They pay attention but they will ignore it if he is top of Round 1 good. If he isnt, then yes, this will hurt him.....

Sadly, we are in the news a lot and especially for negative news. However, it isn't the news agencies, it just seems like crap is always happened. Just a couple of weeks ago it was the stupid Pruitt story.

He's not coming back. It would be a terrible look for Tennessee to let him at this point.
It'd just be a relatively standard contract negotiation. The only reason anyone is even bringing up a possible "bad look" is because this is the first time it's happened(that we know of anyway) college program. Negotiations get like this all the time in professional sports leagues, and whether anyone likes it or not, college is going to be seeing more and more of them too.

I know that this is just as much on Nicos backers and his own father getting in his ear hyping him up and when you're in that position,it's easier to believe your own hype.

His numbers last year were average and not deserving of this NIL price increase. 2 million for a QB. I'd love that kind of money at that age. This is getting greedy, plain and simple.

Take my opinion for what it’s worth. NIL IS ruining college sports! We all know that. Give them each $15,000 a year. Take away jerseys sales with names on them. If someone hires you to do a commercial ad for them that’s between them. They get an education. Free food, room and clothes for as long as they are there. (Always been that way). Food includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Shakes and desserts. WTH. They really get so many perks! I know of many that have walked away with $30,000 in their pocket if they don’t spend! I effing hate the NIL MOVEMENT!!!

So basically what you're saying is to ignore every court ruling and do this instead? Solid plan
