Is it sad that I am not really that upset about Nico leaving? Both because his level of play and because the nature of the sport now?

Also, I wouldn't be lying if I told you I am getting sucked back into the allure of the backup. Merk, or anybody we can pull from the portal, is exciting.

Even if Nico did want to come back (which sounds like it's not happening), he's totally ruined what trust/connections he had with this team. He's lost the locker room, no way the fans rally around him at Neyland. Such a stupid move by his family. If he had produced better numbers last year, maybe he could've got more money, but given the average run of the mill season he had last year, nowhere is paying him more than we were unless they are stupid, which is 100% a possibility in today's football world. I want him to leave now. That kind of pettiness and disloyalty is not what it means to give your all for Tennessee

The only way this works out for Nico is if he lands at a superstar program with a starting job. Otherwise, it just looks stupid and will limit him even more.

GMs also pay attention to this crap. You think a GM is going to be happy with somebody who has already been a hold out before they even got into the NFL?
