Old man yells at cloud moment inbound:

This **** is going to sour me on college football fast.

I would just like to say this is not usually how 98% of these things go. It's pretty obvious Nico's family is incredibly delusional and manipulative. But I understand the sentiment.

Danny and Josh seem about as level-headed as they get. They also seem to understand how college sports works in 2025. For it to get this far, it seems pretty obvious to me that this goes far beyond the pale. Just because Carson Beck got a desperate offer from Miami doesn't give you the right to all of a sudden think you're the **** and deserve more.

Thing is, where is Nico gonna go? Oregon doesn’t want him. USC isn’t interested. Fall camp is right around the corner. He would be giving himself 8 to 12 weeks to get acclimated to a new staff and offense before camp. Good luck with that.

I don't have a ton of faith in Merklinger but if this is going to be an ongoing saga and he is missing practices over this, you can't take the risk of him as the starting QB. What if he balls out the first month and then his dad wants more money and is threatening a hold out?

Also, Nico is what 21? I understand that is not an easy decision. I understand he's probably a victim of a dad who didn't have the talent and is living vicariously through him and that sucks. But you're also 21. At some point, you gotta stand up to the old man and tell him that is enough.
