Sounds like dad runs the show. When you are raised like that, someone so heavy handed and dominant, it’s hard to break away from it. He probably doesn’t even realize yet that there is anything wrong with the way his dad goes about things. It’s the norm for him.

Not necessarily defending Nico, just saying it’s not black and white in that way.

Coming from past experience it takes a long time to say enough is enough even when you know what’s going on. If the people around you are benefitting off of what you do, they will always give you advice that serves them best even if it’s running you into the ground. That’s why Nico should understand this and put his foot down now because it will save him a lot of heartache and stress down the road. They are already ruining his reputation right now.

It worked with Schiano and IMO this fan base did nothing to bring this out. How some react is on those that did knowing what VN is.

I saw five in-person games last season and thought Nico performed at about an average level for an SEC QB. He made some good throws and he made some bad throws, which is normal for his age and experience. I expect he made some good progress in the off-season, but, as the team leader, he cannot let agents or his parents cause disruptions. If UT has reached their limit with these antics, then cut him loose and prepare the next man. Catering to multiple renegotiations is not a good longterm plan for the school, but it is worse when the coaching staff gets blindsided by the player not reporting to practice.

That’s always been my opinion of Merk. I think he could actually be damn good. I know he played VERYYYYYYY minimum but he looked a lot more comfortable then Nico did

Everyone needs to calm down. This is gonna be an everyday thing until some type of guardrails are put on NIL and transfer portal. For all we know this could be nothing and a rumor started by another program. We literally know NOTHING. And I’m sorry but this Tennessee administration has been pretty closed lipped when they want to be. So I don’t care if Chris low who barely reports anymore says something. Nico’s crowd saying nothing going on. UT not saying anything going on. As far as I’m concerned, business as usual.

Our fanbase needs to check themselves before we create a shitshow out of NOTHING. This is the world we live in buttercups. Get it together and stop trashing our QB and our program. We got ass to kick in 4 months. That’s all that matters.
