The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

From the RF:

This is from a bball insider in the Trilly discord that has plenty of connections:

"Nico’s inner circle has been trying to drum up interest from some west coast schools but I don’t think they’ve found a legitimate taker. They reached out to Oregon and Lanning called Heupel to let him know haha"

"There’s no market for Nico at the price point his family thinks. He’s sat out practices this spring and this has become a headache for the staff so getting this out there and painting the family in a bad light is fine from Tennessee’s perspective. It’s been pretty ridiculous over the last 4-5 months."

This true? @raw dog
It’s all over the internet ha

Google nico

Man I'm all for a guy getting more money but when you weren't a top 5 QB in the conference and you're sitting out practices (assuming that's true), that's a major problem

And I get it from Nico and his family. He did not have a great year, there is probably some inner worrying he's never getting a big NFL contract now, try and get as much as you can. It's understandable. But what I've read is that this was taken care of in December/January. Not great it's April and this is coming up again.

Yup. 100%

If that's the case I don't think he and his family know all that much about how a QB's career can progress. What really matters is how Nico plays in the year before he decides to (or has to) go pro. Even if he lit it up last year, if he took steps back and regressed this year (a Carson Beck-type trajectory) he wouldn't be in line to get a big NFL deal.

Last year, I thought he was pretty good for a true freshman. Not great, but pretty good. If he shows out this year, he'll be in line to be taken in the first round in 2026. If he's mediocre again, he can still get drafted high by showing out in 2026. At some point Nico has to bet on himself and play. If Nico and his family are already like "Hey kid, just try and get what you can now" after one RS freshman season, that's unfortunate. It isn't like he's going to be a 5th year senior with no clear NFL prospects.
