McMiller has a lot of potential just a freshman she went for 18 a game. Her three point shooting was 33 percent. Players usually improve a lot from freshmen to sophomores so we'll see what we do. Right now I'm looking at post players and if we go perimeter should be Kneepkens and Todd as they offer the biggest upgrade to the three point game.
I know she signed five guards of which three were high school All Americans and two were just outside. If that is not enough perimeter help then I guess we goofed up. As for last years team one post like even Okot could've made the difference in our favor in at least five of those game maybe more. I agree SC got a little better getting Latson to replace the graduating couple of guards they used. Worse from the three point line and defense, but better overall scoring.
No worries. I just don’t think one player making a lot more has to be an issue. Beuckers made way more than anyone else at UConn and so did Clark at Iowa. SC felt differently about her price so we’ll just have to wait and see. I will say Dawn has managed to keep most of her players and locker room happy even with all the talent and egos.
Maybe it was the system or coaching where she played but Todd’s defensive stats say she wouldn’t help us keep other teams from scoring more than our seniors did this year. It’s hard to find complete three level players with great defense in the portal though bc most of them aren’t leaving their own teams lol
Yes she can't play next year. Actually the players in question McMahon probably was way down our list so when it got to the money she was asking we backed off. Latson was going to SC even for less money to play with Raven. I don't know what she got there, but evidently we didn't see a reason to try to give more. I'm not upset that we didn't get either one of them. There will be players that will upset me, but I have to trust that our Coach knows what she is doing.
