JUCO is mostly used by guys with significant academic problems.

Ultimately I think it’s about a wash.

But it’s worth noting LMU has long been one of the top DII programs (coached by Schertz for a long time) and there were seasons where I think they were as good as a mediocre low major team.

Spent many summers on campus there and it's a full blown college. The main gym is just as impressive as TTU or any other OVC gym I've been in. The only JuCo I've been in was Roane State and it just felt like an expensive HS venue...

Didn't realize that, as I know several 18-year-olds were drafted last year.

Grade issues would be a huge red flag in this era. Do players even get suspended anymore or am I just blinded by CRB’s rosters? It seems like we used to lose 1 or 2 players every year or two that couldn’t handle the student part of being student-athletes.

At one time, grades were attached to the transfer portal. Couldn't transfer if you were not in good standing with grades. That may have been thrown out with the bath water though. Never see grades mentioned anymore.
