If you're talking cheap plastic trinkets and the like then that's generally true. For a many goods, it's not.Mostly the critical fallacy in thinking that manufacturing can return here and produce goods at a competitive price. We are way past that in the world today and those days are over. It's not going to happen.
I don’t have a boy. What do anyone of us know about doing Government business. It seems very logical to me that you would want to pressure other countries into a better deal. I will judge Trump on the end results.Yes because it's your boy who's doing it. All this sleight of hand misdirection chicanery might be good if you're a slug trying to screw a supplier or customer in private business but it's a piss poor way to do government business.
A lot of the ones cheering seem to forget that the US infrastructure is old compared to China and Japan. It would take years for a company to come in and build a facility, train the people, and get to capacity. That's one problem. Next problem is wages. The golden age of Manufacturing happened only because Europe and Asia were recovdring/rebuilding from the war.Mostly the critical fallacy in thinking that manufacturing can return here and produce goods at a competitive price. Correct. Automation is our friend. Automated factories can pay a decent wage and require less people to operate. We've had automation around for years, and over the last few years materials/logistics side has been taken over by robots in some facilities. All the more reason to return manufacturing here. We need to modernize our production and infrastructure in order to keep up instead of falling further behind.
100% tariff on Canada from China...This show me that the tariff complaints are nothing more then a personal hate for Trump..it's sad

You attract more flies with honey than vinegar. Trump's only tool appears to be pissing on their leg, so color me skeptical of any cooperation from our so-called global partners moving forward. We need to have the capacity to feed every American, take care of every healthcare issue, and build every component of every weapons system from within our borders. China’s goal is to surpass us economically and militarily. Plus they want to own our farmland. We can’t allow any of that to happen and correct anything that has been trending in that direction.
Sourcing raw materials like lumber and energy from Canada and labor from Latin America is fine as long as it’s a 2-way street as far as providing things of value in exchange for access to US commerce. Especially Mexico working with us instead of against us on our social problems (fentanyl and illegal immigration). All of the neighbors need to not be a participant in enabling China to gain influence and power.
Tariffs are a far better method than military options. Even blockades entail a use of force. Leveraging our economic position isn’t a bad approach.
The hatred of Orange Man being the top concern is a selfish, agenda driven mistake by the left.
