2025 Transfer Portal Thread

I’m not sure how I feel about Carey. He’s not that exciting of an addition honestly.
If Estrella isn't healthy, I'd feel a lot better with Carey backing up Okpara than Phillips. Team needs some physicality in the paint. Phillips will get there, but he's got some filling out to do.

If Estrella is healthy I think it’s very likely you see him at the 4 with Cade behind him and Carey at the 5 behind Okpara as the rotation there. Of course extra additions from the portal could change that.

I hope that no ones takes this as me talking crazy... well it kinda is lol... but Carey has kind of a Grant Williams type of game, as in you can throw it to him down on the block and he can make a move. Def not GW... but different that what we got from Cade, Okpara, and Igor this year.

That's why I like him he's physical and can create his own shot. Definitely worth having on the roster

Yeah that's definitely crazy. He averaged 8 points a game and didn't start for a fringe tournament team. He's a scrappy bench guy who happened to have two good games against us and didn't do a whole lot the rest of the year.

Scored 18 & grabbed 14 Rebs against Texas this past year...not too shabby for a bench piece

Not sure why we are complaining about adding another big man when our lack of depth in the frontcourt was one of the biggest weaknesses this year.
My take is that I wish we were improving our post room and not just adding depth. Was just hoping for someone who could shoot or score in the paint, not another version of Cade Phillips.
