California Lunacy Thread

May not be a California specific lunacy, but seems like it to me. Do any other states do this?

Prisoners in california can have over night visitors, even if in jail for murder. 2nd such murder at this prison within a year.

Thought Justine was HOT when I was a little kid and she was on Family Ties....damn I am old. Read some of her TwiX posts though by clicking on the one above. Seems like she is pretty level headed too.
Seen her lately? Yikes. But yes, she certainly was. I dated my best friend’s sister for a while. She closely resembled a young Justine Bateman. She, however, has held up very well over time.

Sick .
Sick and stupid. Obviously the liberal idiots running California didn’t learn their lesson from State Farm and other property insurers not renewing insurance policies in California due to the state’s regulators stupid decisions.

All this is what you get when you pull the lever for democrats. The rest of the country would do well to take a very close look at the California disaster before they step into the voting booth the next time.

They have progressive fines based on income in many Scandinavian countries. Speeding tickets are based on a person's tax burden. I don't really have a problem with this approach.
people in scandanavia are not treated equally under the law. The whole point of the fines was to get everyone to slow down to make certain intersections safer, fewer people killed/mangled. Poor fast drivers kill as well as rich fast drivers, poorer driver's have less incentive to slow down. if a poor driver kills two pedestrians due to speeding, do poorer drivers get 80% less time in jail for vehicular manslaughter than rich drivers?

“The data is overwhelmingly compelling. There is no evidence of price gouging, either by gas station owners or refiners or oil producers in the state — at least widespread."
“It is uniformly acknowledged that California has the most stringent regulatory … environment, for oil and gas companies in the world,” the study reads in part. “Regulatory oversight, irrespective of one’s (political) perspective, is layered into and accumulates throughout the supply chain, ultimately adding to the cost burdens of compliance for oil and gas industry operators, which, in turn, contribute to higher consumer prices at the pump.”
and yet...

Kids, go ahead and get your nads chopped off but you can't ride shotgun until you're 16

That's going to make driving with a learner's permit at the age of 15 and a half extra challenging. I just confirmed on the CA website that it is 15 and a half in California. I guess kids in CA will have to employ the Bubba Smith technique.
