2025 Transfer Portal

Sorry if already posted but evidently the Lady Vols are getting a visit from Boston College transfer SG T’yana Todd. 1k point scorer and good 3 pt shooter.
45.9% from 3 on 2.1 makes per game this year is really good. A little streaky game-to-game but maybe more consistent than what we've had? 8-11 on 3s against Miami, a couple 4-5 and 4-6 games against Cal, Clemson, and Syracuse, but then also two 0-fer games in the ACC tournament.

89.3% on FTs would also be better than anyone we had this year.

I’m going to hold off on breaking down the highlights of this player or any other visitors until we see how the portal blitz by Coach Caldwell, Coach Tubner, and Coach Lazo takes form but I can see the vision.
The player visiting today from Boston College is listed as a guard at 6’0 and along with Deniya Prawl and Lauren Hurst both at 6’2 that’s a forward in CKC system.
This player has the athleticism, length, and shooting skills to fit perfectly in CKC system but when you see their position listed as a guard really this player will be used as a wing or forward at UT.
This would basically be the replacement for Sara Puckett.

Surprised we are looking at her. Her analytics on defense are just horrific -- around the 25th percentile. For comparison, Tess was 50th percentile; Spear was 45th percentile.

Latson said we reached out, and that’s all I need to hear. Now let’s get this deal done.

Latson told On3 that LSU, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss, among others, have expressed interest to Latson’s representatives. This list is expected to grow, as Latson will likely be the most sought-after player in the transfer portal.

Doesn't rebound much for a six foot player, but if she is taking the place of someone on the end of the bench this is an excellent pickup. She can shoot it and has the legitimate reps made 67 this past season for 45.9 percent.

I’m sure Coach Lazo and Coach Tubner are putting on a blitz in the portal.
For the current visitor, 3-year double figure scorer. Her role if UT brings her in will be to replace Sara Puckett and Tess Darby as a stretch forward in CKC system.
CKC is playing chess and everyone else checkers.

Mechelle just moved to Knoxville about a month ago. Ruby isn’t going anywhere
I’m confused. Two different women post as Rubys Mom. The one who posted love for the program is Lisa from Detroit.
Will you quit with calling out Latham,,,She loves it here, her family is behind her and she is here to stay,,,,BACK OFF!
Quit flipping out. No one is calling out Latham. She’s just quiet so no one knew. Looks like you’ve once again made it your biz to make contact

Fair to call that out, but looks like BC as a team was horrific defensively, so it's harder to gauge was that means for her as an individual defender. They were 337th in FG% defense and 303rd in points allowed per game. That said, she was near the bottom of her team in defensive win shares and defensive rating - but again, their best player (who played any real minutes) had a 0.03 defensive win shares/40 minutes, whereas our worst player had 0.02 (Spear) and everyone else was above that. So, just tough to compare.

I see that, I'm just surprised. If we take her, I'm sure the coaches have vetted her defensive film and think they can coach her up in that area.

Explains why that x account deleted the post with the Ruby gif and replaced it with a generic dude 😂 I was so sad at the momentary fear of losing Ruby.

Thank goodness I didn't for even one second fear she was leaving. I don't see any players who've transferred in even thinking about leaving. They love being Lady Vols and are super spoiled by how well they're treated by the university, the community, and (most) fans.

There are ways we could go as high as four in the portal. It would require two players to transfer.

What's everybody's guess on when our staff will pull the trigger on going strong after portal players? Do we think they're already making offers? Or do we think they'll wait until after the season is over to see if there are any players on any of the Final Four teams who might toss their names into the ring?

I can see reasons to strike early, but then I can also see reasons to wait and see if there are any players worth waiting for. Either choice the staff makes carries risks.

Repeating for the third time: I am so dang glad I'm not a coach right now. I'm stressed out FOR them even though I have nothing to do with any of it. 😲

They are definitely making offers. Starting to wonder how many starting to get interesting.
