Truly enjoyed basketball season.
Great mens team. Incredible season for the women too. How many first year coaches coach to a sweet 16? It’s great to be a Tennessee Volunteer! It would have been great to make the final four, but today houston held the upper hand. I am disappointed in the outcome of the game but not in the team or coaches.

In two days, we have transitioned from a memorable basketball season to the baseball and softball season.

Softball took the series from Oklahoma.
Baseball swept south carolina.
Baseball and Softball CWS anyone?
Yes, please!

Chaz clearly delivered. Felix also more than expected as well.

Igor a very solid addition, but his inconsistency became frustrating. With his size & skillset he should have easily been a 12 & 8 guy…wish he was returning for one more year.

I’m only sad I won’t get to see ZZ or Shack in O&W anymore. 😭

What is the story behind that? Did his profile say 6’8" and when he showed up to campus they saw he was 6’6"?

Igor was frustrating. He actually regressed the last month of the season/playoffs.

Maybe he will. I don't understand what the holdup is on this NCAA hearing. Teams have to go portaling now, and how do you know your needs if you are in limbo with players like ZZ and Gainey?

I'm not sure I expected an Elite 8 run out of this team. I didn't think we had the depth and I was worried about health/wear. Especially after the Estrella and Carr stuff. I thought that just put a ceiling on the season's potential.

They played with a ton of heart. No shame in losing to Houston, or Duke, or Florida, or Auburn, or Mich St, or any other team that we could have come across.

I am proud of this team and I am proud of Barnes.

The Mashack 3 to beat Bama was worth it. The win over Kentucky in the SWEET SIXTEEN was worth it.

Only ONE TEAM can win the tournament. Just one. You have to be great, you have to be deep, you have to be consistent, you have to be lucky. You have to somehow avoid officiating catastrophes. All of those things have to happen for a championship run. I'm not surprised we couldn't keep those factors where they needed to be for an extended period of time. It's HARD. It's even harder when you don't have the ingredients that several other teams have.

Yet and still they still made an elite 8 run and it remains impressive and should be admired. You would be a willing fool to dismiss where this team ended the season.

I felt terrible after some of our previous tournament exits. I couldn't understand how THAT team with THOSE players lost to teams I felt were inferior or got lucky or were blessed by ridiculous officiating.

I don't feel that way today. I feel that a team that we should all take pride in and be thankful for came up against a better team and lost. There is no shame in that. I won't call it acceptable but it certainly isn't unacceptable.

I hope we can load up again. It was a fun season. The highs outweighed the lows. Ill miss ZZ a ton.

Honestly what is the obsession with final 4 anyways? Why do Kentucky fans knock us for no final 4s but they don’t say “no natties”. Isn’t a final 4 just a participation trophy. Losing today is literally no different than losing next week. You didn’t win the natty. Just something I don’t really get lmao

Like making the playoffs in football or Omaha in baseball. It’s just a big deal. I see your point about the title, but it’s just a big milestone.

I mean is Tennessee football gonna hang a banner in Neyland that says “made the 2024 CFP” I certainly hope not. Lmao
