President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

There was no reason for there to have been any movement from the Houthis because Goldberg didn't release the information until the attack was over. I guarantee you if he had, the Trump administration would not be calling that information "unclassified." They would be screaming for Goldberg to be charged with treason for releasing classified information prior to a military operation. Goldberg actually showed more concern for national security than Hegseth did. That's how bad the Trump clown show is performing.
If if if if.... But it wasn't. Good for Goldberg being a good American and sitting on generic information that may or may not have caused movement by the enemy. But really, what you are saying is that he did the administration a favor. 1) identified that they had a problem in CommSec. 2) Made sure to purge big mouthed "journalists" from the test/email lists.

The Trump administration is doing just fine. They are undoing the damage that the puppet did, and getting us back to being a great country again. Not to mention they have completely discombobulated the Democrat party. There is still time for the Republican party to **** that particular benefit up however so rest easy.

Giving you a like for use of the word "discombobulated." It's a good word. I haven't seen it used in a long time.

I can't decide which is worse ....

1) Being careless enough to do this by accident.
2) Being a mole, who wanted to give Goldberg access to this chat.

They are both bad. Mike Waltz is either a buffoon or incredibly dishonest. It pretty much has to be one or the other.

What in hell is happening here? I agree with you again, it just feels weird.

I mean it could be his contacts were altered without his knowledge somehow but still doesn’t excuse it imo. Just makes the incompetence a little less glaring
His phone contacts could be altered without his knowledge?

How?

Physically or remotely it can happen on a normal person’s phone. I’m not sure what measures are on a top level government employee to prevent it but I would still guess it’s doable.

I understand physically modifying contacts. Someone takes his phone and puts the contact in or edits an existing. I don't think it is likely just based on how I use (lock) my phone. I don't give it to other people, either.

I don't understand how it happens remotely.

All the more reason for Trump's cabinet members not to include the editor of The Atlantic in a group chat. Jeffrey Goldberg did not hack his way in. He was invited. You can not discredit this story by attacking The Atlantic and/or Jeffrey Goldberg. In fact, attacking Goldberg, only makes it harder to explain why he was invited into their group chat.

Exactly.

The Hegseth Excuse Train derailed days ago and he's just making it worse with these just incredibly dumb arguments. His claim that this is not "war plans," playing games with words when he's talking about times, targets, and weaponry -- in advance -- is CLEARLY and OBVIOUSLY classified information. His effort to dodge this with the its not "war" plans just reeks of desperation and an unwillingness to simply admit the obvious mistake.

And the scathing, shrieking, nervous argument has been made now by Trump and others to simply blame Goldberg for being on the call and not alerting anyone. The problem with this argument is that it is irrelevant. Even if Goldberg did the wrong thing that does not in any way, shape, or form, excuse what the Trump team did. Its pretty simple.

I really have not felt that anyone deserves to be fired over this. Embarrassing to be sure and a mark against Trump in the sense that he picked these morons, yes. But it was one error and can be fixed moving forward. That has been my gut feeling about it....

Until now. Now that Hegseth has told lie after lie after lie, after changed story after new lie about the old story ... he needs to go based on lack of just fundamental candor and character. Trump should have him resign, thank him for his service, and emphasize that he expects his team to tell the truth when errors are made and to accept responsibility.

But you believed a diary was forged and was in a 3 ring binder. Fire the dude, nobody cares but it won’t be enough so who cares.
You like to bring that up a lot .... I did believe that Project Veritas had tampered with evidence, and they have done so in the past. The couple who found the diary was immediately trying to make money from it, and had every incentive in the world to also tamper with the diary if it didn't include any salacious details. Both parties had motives to tamper with the diary, and they both were in possession of the diary in between the time that Ashley Biden last had it, and the time it was handed over to the FBI. My opinions were reasonable based on the conduct of Project Veritas and the couple, who was sent to prison, by the way ...

Now, I probably did speculate more than I should have, but my suspicions were not unreasonable based on who had been in possession of the diary. Project Veritas wanted to smear Joe Biden and the couple wanted to make as much money from the diary as possible. Project Veritas has a history of bribing witnesses, which I also documented.

Having said all of that, I did eventually acknowledge that my suspicions seemed to have been unfounded. Basically, I admitted that I had been wrong ..... which none of the MAGA crowd on here has ever done or will ever do, for the unfounded speculation that the 2020 Presidential Election was rigged.

So, basically ..... F you.

If Goldberg had posted that chat on the internet on March 11th, prior to the start of that military strike in Yemen? Is there any doubt that the Trump Administration would be accusing him of treason right now? If the answer to that question is "No," then it obviously was classified information. Hegseth does not have a leg to stand on.

Hopefully he won't be invited anymore.

Lol. So the Atlantic doesn’t want to “smear” anyone? If they fire someone will that satisfy you? Of course not.

Agreed. The information is considered whatever they need it to be based on the circumstances.

Am I wrong in thinking that politicians could earn a lot of respect by admitting openly to mistakes instead of side-stepping???

Senior cabinet officials should not be gambling the secrecy of an attack on the good will of a hostile reporter.
Not that I think it was, but what if it was a setup from the get-go? From what I read, there wasn't enough specific information to warn anyone of an impending attack, but there was enough to warrant it being classified. So what if Goldbug had released it?
