So you have witnessed them deporting legal migrants? Again, it's law enforcement, on a federal level, so I'm definitely not taking up for them. I'm genuinely curious as to what you've experienced.

I’ve been raided twice.
I’ve had them attempt to arrest people who I have documented as legal. Then threaten to arrest me for interfering….by showing them the documents.
They are every bid as bad to deal with as any backwoods redneck sheriffs department. I was ready for them with the lawyers the second time. I think a 3rd is unlikely but you never can tell.
I get that almost everyone they deal with is lying too them but why not find out what the situation is before going on the attack. And secondly…..on a construction site isn’t where you’ll find the criminals they’re looking to deport

it would be one thing to stop any new people from using that program, but allowing those "grandfathered in" to stay. or ending this one program and shifting the people to another program that is still approved. but they are certainly changing the legal status at will. and its not like these were 500k who had overstayed this window.

There was several handfuls of people working on construction jobs in a 2 mile radius of my house. It's both obvious and sad how those jobs have seemingly come to a halt. These people working construction wanted to make the USA their home, because that's exactly why we were established. They had a better life here. These people looked excited after getting their daily cash pay buying the ingredients to the delicious supper they were going to make. None of these individuals were here, breaking the law other than being here without any thing other than maybe an expired green card

At the very least it needs to be a grandfathering discussion. It's not fault of the individual that the government changed its mind on a law mid way thru.

Like it being legal to own a machine gun purchased before the ban. It's still legal to keep it even if it's illegal for any new ones bought after the ban. *without a tax sticker*

I think it's becoming clear that who Trump wants to deport is not who Trump has said he wants to deport. They're not just going after criminal undocumented folks. This is a much broader purge.
