What the Atlantic should do is release the full transcript. If the SECDEF and the press secretary are both openly claiming nothing in there is classified, test their claim.
Release the full transcript and show they’re lying. If they are
Mike Waltz took responsibility for it.Clearly, someone in Trump's cabinet during the chat royally screwed up. It appears to have been Mike Waltz.
However, nobody will ever take ownership of their mistake. Instead, they shift blame towards Democrats and the media for making too much out of it, when they would react in the same manner, if the roles were reversed, and a Democratic Party Administration had done the same thing.
It isn’t the end of the world and all the crews got back safe but it’s absolutely moronic to share that info in near real time outside of a SCIF I think. Much less an unapproved app with the Atlantic editor reading it.Looks like they did just that. Props to the Atlantic for calling their bluff. I agree with the Atlantic on not initially releasing this.
The real issue though is what is/is not considered classified is based on the desires of executive branch. So the entire picture is a bit muddy, but I do think this is worse than the Whitehouse is letting on. But not as bad as others are acting. Somewhere in the middle
Nobodies arguing says JG being included isn't a **** up... They are saying the info is not what JG said it was and therefore he is a liar... Whomever added him needs a punishment no doubt... But this pales in comparison to previous events the left accepted. That’s a good thing? I’d guess the targets would love to know what strike aircraft were coming and when they were supposed to arrive. War plans was an exaggeration by Goldberg. It doesn’t make sharing those details any less stupid.

Was the target location or coordinates well known?Hegseth gave them the strike information before they occurred per his own time stamps.

The info stands on its own. Yes it was bad enough as is.Nobodies arguing says JG being included isn't a **** up... They are saying the info is not what JG said it was and therefore he is a liar... You had a career in the MIC. I trust your judgement on this.It isn’t the end of the world and all the crews got back safe but it’s absolutely moronic to share that info in near real time outside of a SCIF I think. Much less an unapproved app with the Atlantic editor reading it.
As I already posted the tweet alone passes my bar. You have strike package composition and time over target. That’s way too much information to be sharing before/during strike outside of a SCIF.Was the target location or coordinates well known?
@NorthDallas40, what is it that meets your standard of details?
Would this info have been an issue if it was fully released before the strikes? If it would have changed or canceled the mission then it seems this is critical infoYou had a career in the MIC. I trust your judgement on this.
I guess I don't fully appreciate what I am reading. Or maybe, I expected more detail.
This reads more to me like our practice reports in the FF.... And then some one claim we are giving out our offensive gameplan. This could have been a drill. As far as anyone knew before hand. You had a career in the MIC. I trust your judgement on this.

Oh I was only this close to this kind of info one time in my career. Me and one other individual. Afterwards we were like WTF did they let us in the ops center we had no business being there ?!You had a career in the MIC. I trust your judgement on this.
I guess I don't fully appreciate what I am reading. Or maybe, I expected more detail.
Not a defense by any stretch....but do you find anything in the exchange which jeopardized the effect of the mission or put service personnel lives in danger? As I already posted the tweet alone passes my bar. You have strike package composition and time over target. That’s way too much information to be sharing before/during strike outside of a SCIF.
Did Goldberg embellish with “War Plans”? The term alone is rather grandiose. That doesn’t mean that information should have been shared as it was.
If those people are interested in the strike then get their asses into the situation room.
Me too. But to be fair, I don't fully appreciate the nature of senstive info. What we read in the practice reports may feel to Heup the reporters are sharing critical intel. This reads more to me like our practice reports in the FF.... And then some one claim we are giving out our offensive gameplan. This could have been a drill. As far as anyone knew before hand.
