President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

I think I read somewhere that the hearings were already scheduled and this story, coincidentally, broke the day before the scheduled hearings.

Even if hastily done, it seems as though the point was to give cover to the administration and their lame arguments. It was interesting, however, how Gabbard threw Hegseth under the proverbial bus.

.... and it is fair to call out their own double standard as well.

Fox News would pounce on a Democratic Party National Security team for something like this.

Fox News has zero high ground to stand on when it comes to accusing someone else of expressing faux outrage from the vantage point of political partisanship.
I’m looking for the liberal logic for double standard. Is the White House posting a picture of Biden with Delta Force a double standard? Pretty big social media group chat. Who got fired, just asking for reference, so I can direct my energy appropriately. Also, can you direct me to where you came out calling that a major screwup that put soldiers in jeopardy with Biden directly connected.

This should have been the law all along. Absolutely ridiculous that illegal aliens including terrorist cell members could vote in our federal elections. Also ridiculous to have gone from paper ballots to hackable computers connected to the freaking internet.

Western Countries in Europe and Asia use paper ballots still for all of their national elections...and have same day results like they should. Restoring people's faith in our elections and their results is paramount. This is long overdue

There are so many things here that just don’t pass the smell test.

At least 25 pages almost entirely about a group text message in about 36 hours? Lmao. "Textgate" . The biggest scandal in history. Wonder who makes the documentary about this gripping, timeless tale ?

Oh wait ... its a freaking nothingburger that will not even be a footnote in any historical record. Alleged war plans vs....wait for it...Yemen terrorists...were seen by a US journalist. Most Americans have sadly never heard of Yemen, and an even greater % couldnt point it out on a world map. Much less have any idea whats going on in the backwater afterthought nation of the ME.

Democrats have no platform.

They have no good ideas.

They have nothing to even encourage the remnant of their base...because they are getting their azzes handed to them daily in addition to the pimpsmack that happened in November.

They have absolutely nothing to do for the next 4 years except make mountains out of molehills, riot, burn stuff, act like the petulant children they are...and its extremely boring in addition to looking desperate and stupid.

Its gonna be a very long 4 years. I am gonna start skimming around here or just skip it altogether if this persists folks. My time is valuable, damn if I am gonna read 20 pages a day of whining. Good luck with that.

I hope one or both sides release the texts...let's see who telling the truth.. if one is indeed lying as I suspect, it'll be fun to watch the pivoting that's going to happen..

This take isn't wrong.

But it's also why Trump should hold Waltz and Hegseth accountable. Rather than pointing to the Democrats' failures as an excuse for their own, the Republicans could prove that they care about such things as minimal competence.
The Atlantic is going to have to provide more then what was posted this morning to be in the same category as sitting US congressman sleeping with a Chinese spy.

The highest levels of the exec branch hiding their transmission of classified info using unapproved methods is not nothing. Easy to dismiss when it's your team I guess

The real issue is that we're continuing to bomb one of the poorest countries in the world because Israel wants it. Even Trump himself said that bombing Yemen was a failure

It's crazy. You can solve problems over the telephone. Instead, they start dropping bombs. I see, recently, they're dropping bombs all over Yemen. You don't have to do that. You can talk in such a way where they respect you and they listen to you,
And now we want to take on Iran in yet another worthless war?
"Every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon, from this point forward, as being a shot fired from the weapons and leadership of IRAN, and IRAN will be held responsible."
In case you wonder why this bombing is necessary
After Trump brokered an Israeli-Palestinian ceasefire, the Houthis declared an end to their attacks on foreign shipping; American ships then returned to the Red Sea.
But when Israel began blocking all foreign aid into Gaza earlier this month, Houthi spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree announced that the movement would resume its blockade on Israeli ships. After Trump ordered the airstrikes over the weekend, Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi declared that his forces would attack American ships too.
This is a complete failure and directly in the hands of the Trump admin. Lobbing some bombs isn't going to move the needle for people who have watched millions of their people get starved and slaughtered for over a decade. Seems JD Vance is the only rational voice but he has no real power (or backbone)

So is this the "plans" part? It looks to me* like this is more of a play-by-play confirmation of events as they occur.

*That's entirely a matter of what I saw there so there may be more to it.
The Atlantic needs to provide more or it’s a big failure by them. No coordinates, military personnel locations etc.

It was a success by the Trump administration, terrorist died and all The Atlantic could provide was some times and bombs strikes. Tough day when the conservatives get out ahead and call the bluff of Goldberg.

Swallowwell is automatically given a pass. You didn't know that? Only Republicans are held to this standard.

Bombing Yemen is a failure. Trump himself said so

Amazing you'll just eat up the "terrorist " label as long as it's applied by your side. What the us had done or allowed to be done is abhorrent. Should be criminal

No, I happily fist pumped when Obama took out Bin Laden. Regroup and try again.
