It's UK. So, what are we gonna do to take them down this time. Outside the trip to Gainesville, the two UK games were out worst of the season. The last 3 in a row can be redeemed in Indy.

Either Illinois is pure slop or KY is peaking at a very bad time for us. These run and gun teams are tough to defend especially when they play good defense. We’d better be ready

Here’s the thing about UK

They shoot 37% from 3

We have one of the best 3 pt defenses

They shot 50% from 3 both times against us.

Had they shot their normal percentage we beat them both times.

Obviously not saying we will beat them but I give us a legit 50/50 shot

What if it goes the other way? What if the Vols get Kentucky and lose a third time to them? Will the pitchforks and torches come out for CRB? So, instead of who would you rather beat in the Sweet 16…..who would you rather lose to?
Not playing not to lose…

I personally want it to be UK. This is the only game that matters the last two earlier in the season aren’t even remotely relative. This will finalize who’s the better team

Kentucky usually plays their best basketball at tournament time. If they prevail over Illinois, they, Tennessee is going to have to play their best defense yet to avoid getting beat again.

Illinois thought they could beat Kentucky at their own game, and they can’t. Only teams with elite athleticism and talent like Alabama and Auburn can do that. We need to play our game and play lockdown defense on Friday if we’re going to get over the hump with them.

Absolutely true. I worry about our defending the 3 pt attempts which was our undoing last 2 games. I get the stats showing how well we do but we are 114th in the nation at giving up the threes. Drive and dish penetration has been hard for us. We are capable though

They haven’t made it past the second round since 2019, not really accurate that they play their best basketball in the tournament.

Just hope Tennessee is scouting the Illinois/Kentucky game. Giving that and the extra days rest should help us.

I saw a stat that Kentucky has reached the elite 8, 38 times put of 45 sweet 16 appearances. That stat is crazy!

Kentucky shot 50% from 3 the first two times they played us, surely they won't do that the 3rd time, right?

Good luck shooting 12-24 in a dome football stadium. Vols have this. On Kenpom vols are bigger favorite vs the Cats than Illinois.

They might if we leave them wide open as we previously did. Hoping this isn’t the case though

Not a doubt in my mind we won’t be laser focused and complete locked in on what we need to do Friday night. If we don’t win the game, it just wasn’t meant to be.

Probably not, but 43% will probably still beat us Unless we shoot lights out. Gotta get them off the 3 point line. Hold them to 8 or less we got a shot. Here’s the deal, we shot horrible against them both times, if we start slow it could get in our head. Don’t like this match up at all. Kentucky has no pressure on them to win this game. All is on us, I think we will be favored but not by much. Our coaching staff and players better be angry and come out fighting. Oh yeah, if they out rebound us I think will spell doom for us, for kick out 3 opportunities. The only way they beat us if they go off from the 3 line. Illinois looked awful today. Win the turnover margin and give ourself the best chance. Go Vols! You get your chance at redemption, if not we will never hear the end of it. Ky fans will pile it on strong. 0-3 to our bitter rival and bounced out of the dance by them. Let that sink in for a while.
