Terrific win today - Chaz got it going, Shack (and Gainey) shut down Johnson, Chad was a beast, and ZZ closed it out. Just a great team win.

Is anyone but me just the slightest bit concerned about ZZ's free throw shooting? Tournament games often come down to making FT's, and he has been a little shaky the last couple of games. Hopefully just a blip, he's usually money.

And may have knocked them from the Dance. The chef's kiss. I want them to get in so Terry doesn't get canned. I don't want any coaching upgrades in this league

Agreed. This league is stuffed with top notch coaches already. Need the Terry’s, Moser’s, and Paris’s of the world to stick around a while to keep the league from becoming a true murderer’s row.

Wouldn’t hurt for Beard, Oaks or Pearl to get another job out of the league. I’d say Golden but not sure anyone is going to come after him. I look forward to the day Steve Pearl takes over for Daddy.

Auburn will go to chicken manure when that happens. Hopefully Bruce retires sooner rather than later. Little Pearl will make a mess of that program. Back to the Tony Barbee days.

Golden would have a lot of folks going after him if not for the creeper allegations against him. As it is, he isn’t going anywhere unless some truly horrific stuff comes out. Florida will be a contender as long as he’s there.

You might be right that it would move in that direction, but none of those other teams had players meeting in hotel rooms to plan going to the same team. Players being drafted or traded for is a bit different than organizing with free agents to form a superteam. James couldn't win a title organically, so he had to go out and form a team to win.
Hate to break it to you, but that stuff predates James too. You just didn’t hear about it as much in real time because there wasn’t social media.

Lanier hasn't been that aggressive (1H) looking for his shot all season...really used his midrange game (no 3 pt attempts until 5 or 6 shots into the game if I remember correctly) and I was very happy to see him getting back to that shot fake. Loved Mashack's aggression on O and there were several times in the game where I thought Tre Johnson was going to start swinging at Jahmai...lol. ZZ was ZZ in 2H.

The refs took a huge L in that game - turrrrrible

Not concerned at all….he has proven thru the season he hits them when they count.

Lunardi just said on College Gameday that Vols can’t get the 1 seed.

Stupid. More flip flopping the last few days than a pair of sandals.

And I believe it too. Would be a repeat of 2022

I was listening and my head exploded. Just proving that what was said on this board all along was true, that this tournament doesn’t matter and is a pointless exercise. Zero value in playing the games. He clearly was told this by the committee otherwise he wouldn’t be flip flopping as much as he has.

It just turns out that the committee was never serious about Tennessee when they said “whoever advances the farthest”.

You’re assuming this to be fact just because Lunardi said it, which doesn’t mean a hill of beans.

I know you have been clinging onto some hope that Tennessee could be a 1-seed. Lunardi may suck as a bracketologist when it comes to seeding the field and the matchups, but he very clearly gets some information directly fed to him from his contacts on the committee when they know there are controversial decisions that could be made and they need a narrative spun.

We’re toast. Stick a fork in us for the 1-seed.

At this point I don’t care if we are a 1 or 2. Gonna have to play good teams at some point. Line up and play and may the best team win.

Yeah, I agree. This is par for the course with the committee. The “whoever goes farthest” was never gonna be true. The committee has it mostly set, some games today may have meaning but they’ve shown they ain’t working on Sunday.
