Bracket Trivia: No 14 or 15 seeded team has ever won a game in the WBB NCAA tournament. Only one 16 seed has ever won a game (16 seeded Harvard defeated 1 seed Stanford in 1998). Combined the 14-16 seeded teams are 1-360 all time.

* Never pick a 14-16 team to win in your bracket.

Bracket Trivia: 12 seeds are 31-99 since 1994, a 20.5% winning percentage and almost 1 win per year on average. 13 seeds are 10-120 since 1994.

*Odds are good for one 12 seed pulling a first round upset each year. Stay away from 13 seeds.

I agree. I see UConn as the top #2 seed. Which puts them in the weakest #1 bracket, so it's all things being equal at that point IMO.

SC would have won yesterday if they played Texas on the moon. Greenville is close to Knoxville, Athens and Columbia. Can you name a closer city location with great amenities that fits more SEC schools?

Who complains that the SEC football championship is played in Atlanta, baseball in Hoover and men's basketball in Nashville?

Oh don't mistake me, I would very much like to be the program with all the five stars playing a two hour bus ride away from campus. Easier than neutral site games. But that doesn't change what it is.

Also, Tennessee only won 8 of its 17 SEC tournament championships in the state of Tennessee. The other 9, out of state, and definitely more than 90 minutes drive away.

And no, Memphis doesn't count. Ask anyone around Tennessee, they can explain it.

Oh heck, Knoxville even hosted the tourney two of the 17 times it was held in Tennessee.

I doubt Tennessee will bitch about it to the conference over the next few years. Pretty damn close to Knoxville. The western schools? They’ll be getting sick of it in short order.

Oh I've no doubt. I said I would want the same. Who wouldn't?

I think the real sticky business will be when Texas starts grumping about it not being in Texas. They'll sweeten the deal too, I'm sure. Dallas is so accessible, flights are easy, we can get a great deal, yada yada. They do love to sprinkle money on their, ah, let's call it strongly worded requests.

They are already bringing it up. Look at their WBB forum(s). First year in the conference and they are already kicking up a dust storm and bitching that something 'needs to be done'. It's why they lost the game yesterday, really, just read their fan sites.

You are correct about texas, it won't be long before they try to run the SEC like they did the B12.

If the SEC football championship leaves Atlanta for Dallas you can bet the ACC will move theirs there. Charlotte is such a poor excuse for a championship city.

Imagine paying $50 for a coke and hotdog at Jerry's World.

Interesting piece of bracket trivia. Sarah Strong’s. mom was a member of that Harvard team that took down Stanford.

South Carolina players are playing their best ball right now, so IMO they would have beaten Texas yesterday regardless of where the game was held — even in Austin.

Even so, it definitely does help to play in front of an arena full of your own fans. No one can deny the power of that.

But the way I see it, money rules, and if Greensboro is outbidding everyone else to host, then they get to do it. If some other city wants to host, then they need to submit a higher bid.

It is what it is. Teams just need to start games strong and reduce the energy of the lopsided crowd.
