Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2025-26

UConn vs St. John’s currently on FS1. 7-2.
I'd rather watch a competitive DII game, tbh. Obviously CTWB can't control what league they're in, but outside of fans of the teams in that league I doubt they get all that much interest in watching their games once their OOC schedule has wrapped up. Pretty sure they roll through their conference tournament, so CT games are a waste of time until they get deep into the NCAAT.

Lol I see on the ESPN scoreboard it was 18-2 after the first quarter.

I’m at the Big East tournament for today and tomorrow’s games. The place always fills up for the UConn games — though there might be slightly less people here today than usual because the men have their senior day game at 2:30.

Aubrey Griffin is apparently sitting out the BE tourney due to knee soreness. A shame, but better safe than sorry IMO. I’d rather them be extra cautious. She doesn’t need to play this weekend, it’s just unnecessary risk.

Looks like Missouri is looking to hire Kelly Harper or Charmin Smith. Says Missouri will make a stronger investment in women's basketball.

“The past three women's college basketball national champions came from the Southeastern Conference. South Carolina won in 2024 and 2022 while LSU won in 2023.

During her five seasons at Tennessee from 2019-24, Harper was 108-52 overall with a 53-24 record against SEC competition. South Carolina coach Dawn Staley and LSU coach Kim Mulkey were the only two coaches to have a better winning percentage in league games than Harper during that span.”

Wow. Not taking anything away from the fact that Georgetown missed some easy bunnies, but they just had the game stolen from them by the officials.

A G’town player grabbed an offensive rebound with ~15 seconds left and got completely body checked by a Creighton player. No whistle. And then immediately after that G’town was called for a weak touch foul (they were not trying to foul intentionally). Creighton takes the lead with 2 FTs and G’town can’t score with 4 seconds left. Total BS officiating. Booooooo.
