War in Ukraine

None of the Ukrainiacs will answer questions about what it would take for Ukraine to win. They scaret to face reality.
I think they could "win" much like Afghanistan does. Force the conflict to last for decades until the attacking country gives up.

Ukrainians don't live in caves and a good portion of those people at the front would probably rather get this over with. The cave dwellers in Afghanistan live a completely different life. This is why I said the Russians would be wise to not hurry a few years ago, you move the line up and push everyone West. This is/was not possible in Afghanistan, there was no real line.

It's a lot easier to defend than attack. Russia is importing North Korean troops, and how much land has it gained in the last six months?

Welcome to 2022. Its not about grabbing land, although at times that is important. Its about reducing the meat and weapons to zero. Please review what Vance said last week in the oval office, "you have manpower problems and the weapon storage is gone" (paraphased)

If Kamala/Biden would have been elected the U.S. would still be withdrawing but it would have been a slower pace i.e. neocons profit the whole time.

I don't know. Bearded is a much better source on those specifics.
But your general point is understood.

This conflict. Any problem areas the Russians just flatten it, see my comments from 2022.
it can work. the german occupation of Russian land in WW2 included many guerilla fights by various partisan groups.

as long as there is a will, there is a way.

I don't know. Certainly not willing to make an absolute declaration about it.

I figure if others can, why not Ukraine.

Because they can just flatten it. You're not hiding a bunch of people anywhere for long. Same thing I said in 2022.

Flatten, slowly move up, flatten it, slowly move up. They have become very efficient at it. Militarily there hasn't been anything interesting to the conflict since 2022, the FABs just increased the rate of the flattening.

The situation is not comparable to Afghanistan.

I understand your point. I just don't agree with the absolutism.

You are comparing an apple (Afghanistan) to an orange (Ukraine). Its a whole different situation, what works in one situation isn't going to necessarily work in others.

You're going to have 100,000 Europeans go with basically no water and food and weapons for 20 years, trying to hide out there? Where?

Its a completely different territory, the people are not the same, nor are they willing to go through 20 years of living in a hole with limited to no water, food, or weapons. Let alone the enemy can see most of your holes you are hiding in and get there by vehicle and foot which isn't always the case in Afghanistan. In Afghanistan they hide in the population as well.

Its all about Flattening the dump into a parking lot. Its the greatest demolition in world history.

I appreciate the discussion. But there isn't anything that will change my mind about it. That's not an indictment of what you share. It's an indictment on how I think.

weird, this is what I mentioned a while ago about you just making up stuff and responding to stuff no one said.

I mentioned a Russian war in the very area we are talking about, not a US war. Russia isn't going to be able to flatten everything for forever.

Yeah. Since the Fall of 2022, you can probably go and see my posts on this subject. This is more akin to a demolition project than a war, imo. Tonnage and able to deliver the tonnage reasonable accurate. Pressure all up and down the line to were the enemy can't relax, if they dig in.... you really flatten those places. Guerrilla warfare is of limited value as you have a line and nowhere to hide or get resupplied or even sleep. Eventually if the line collapses, and if the Russians take advantage of those collapses, than guerrila warfare can be more used but probably not at scale.

This is why I said in 2022 that it could take 20 years if the Ukrainians were supplied and didn't run out of meat.

They probably won't have to in this one, my prediction in 2022 was it could take 20 years if the Ukrainians were supplied and didn't run out of meat. They'll run out of meat way before 20 years, heck, according to Vance, not sure they even have weapons much longer.
