Huh? I’m being incredibly positive about this loss. I’m also not dumb. 1 seed isn’t possible. Don’t know why this is the hill you’re willing to die on.

Definitely an odd hill to die on. Just mathematically isn’t in the cards for us to be a 1 seed which is not the end all be all. Plenty of 2 seeds have made a F4. A 1 seed would have been nice, but it isn’t anything to fret too much over imo. All about matchups.

I didn’t say it was likely, but to say it’s absolutely not possible - 0% - is outright delusional.

Unfortunately, yes. I know first half points are as important as second half points to some degree, but it’s nut cuttin’ time and he vanishes.
I've said it multiple times, but he doesn't work nearly hard enough to get open. If they don't run a play designed to get him open, it ain't happening in the 2nd half it seems like.

Don’t backtrack just because you realize there’s still a chance. “Bury the 1 seed talk” has become “more or less/highly unlikely.” Make up your mind.

Jesus, dude. Highly unlikely =
99.9% chance it ain’t happening = bury the 1 seed talk. I’m not backtracking in any way. You’re nitpicking ant verbiage annd being argumentative about something that should be common sense. Believe what you want, but it is what it is. We will be a 2 seed barring a highly unlikely disaster against SC and a loss in the first SECT game. That to say, we will be a 2 seed which is still great.

Yep, Chaz will light a team up if they make it easy for him. But any team that defends him hard, ya get a half or so before he stops working.

If Chaz had Santi’s effort to get open he would have been in the NBA 4 years ago.

It's happened a lot. Probably a lot more than we even realize. It would be interesting to see what his half splits are in SEC play.

Yep. Ultimately, he has still made this team a lot better than it would have been without him. Still, it will always be a mystery as to why he seems to play at a snail’s pace in the second half of close games. Definitely a “what if” kind of player.

Gainey, on the other hand, has been working his ass off on both ends every time he’s on the court. I probably feel most confident in going to him to get us a late bucket at this point - something I never thought I’d be saying a year or two ago.

1 seed is dead. Florida has 2 wins better than any 1 win we have. They also have better overall record, along with their superior analytics/NET rankings.
The one seed may be out, but they objectively don’t have a much better resume. They just don’t. 2 wins doesn’t make up for the Q1 wins and the non conference wins. Louisville, Baylor, and Illinois are better than any of theirs. If we had played UGA and USC twice in conference, we would have more wins too.

Barnes also seems to be particularly upset based on his postgame comments. Not happy with the effort at all. He said Ole Miss wanted it more than our guys did.

He’s right imo. A bad offensive rebounding team doesn’t magically dominate the offensive boards unless you just get badly outworked.

Still proud as hell of this team, no matter what happens.

Lost so many players from last year, then injuries and still to be going into the last game of regular season with 25 wins & a top 4 SEC seed locked up is impressive.

Meanwhile Freddie buckets went to be a role player for a damn 15-15 team that ain’t going dancing.

Aidoo got paid to hold a bench down.

Definitely think Tobe would have been a huge piece had he stayed, all the rest seem to have been dead weight.

I wouldn’t say we have 25 wins locked up yet. Not taking South Carolina lightly after our recent history with them.

Q1-2 wins/losses are almost dead even and, once again, they have 2 wins that the committee will see as far tougher as any single win we have. Just how it is.

Don’t know why. Ole Miss is a good team. They hit incredibly difficult shots all 2H - most of them against great defense. Annoyed with our rebounding, but overall this is a tip the cap type of game.
Because we had 4 times that we got up to 7-8 point leads and we went stupid on offense. I can buy it’s a game of runs but come on, it went the same way every time.

I can tip the cap but at the same time curse that our offense went bye bye again when we should have built leads

Well, tonight sucks, but in one piece of encouraging news our offensive efficiency jumped up to 21 tonight. Just need to get our defense figured out again.

So you’re expecting us to go 0-3 to end the season now?

No, not really, but I wouldn’t say it’s completely unrealistic considering how good the SEC is and how often 2/15 upsets happen. Wouldn’t put money on it. Just saying South Carolina is goofy to be a tough game.

We really just need everyone to get healthy.

If we can get there then we will be hard to beat, Igor wasn’t 100% tonight.

That’s your opinion that Q2 losses are just as important. I just don’t get how people just assume. Their resume is not objectively better. I’ve laid it out there. They beat no one in the non conference. Their SOS is worse than ours. “Having more wins” means nothing.
