Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

I was just helping out by adding some extra info to what you had posted.

Looks like Reuters was wrong.
Yeah, I just wanted to clarify before I went either way with it.

What was Reuters wrong about?

I think the Polish Deputy Prime Minister is certainly wrong, lol. But, that doesn't make Yahoo or the journalist from your link wrong(or right) for reporting it.
Poland's Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski has stated that he does not believe it is possible to disconnect the Starlink satellite communication terminals in Ukraine which are funded by Poland.
I'm not too certain this guy quite grasps the concept of how satellites transmit and send data.......
Comcast/Xfinity don't have to come to the house and take your box or cut your coaxial cables when you dont pay the bill anymore.........
You get to keep your access and get a pleasant screen explaining 'Service Denied'

What was Reuters wrong about?
Reuters "sources" said negotiations included cutting off Starlink from Ukraine if Zelenskyy did not agree to $500 billion mineral deal. Musk said this was not true and called Reuters liars and the Musk haters on this forum said Musk was the liar and Reuters was the best most trustworthy news agency out there.

here is the tweet and Musk responding to it:

Didnt Carter start the DoEd from the executive branch? Trump can probably kill that one.
department. Carter just made it its own department. And if Trump just deletes the department, I would guess that it would only delete a small part of the expenses associated with it
I'm pretty certain he can't kill that one without congress helping. Carter set it in motion with EO, but congress then passed a handful of bills that amended the control and function of DOE over the ensuing years. The courts struck down a few, but a few of them stuck.

The DOE will make for any interesting case and probably establish some precedence if he tries to Thanos snap it.

We're gonna end up with so much chaos as well as litigation, I'd be surprised if DOGE is even at a net savings right now.

You don't know anything about me, we've seen Elon being a POS on many occasions that I haven't come close to doing. Remember when he called that cave rescuer a pedo? Remember two days ago when his child was having a medical emergency and the mom had to keep tweeting at him to get him to respond? Remember how he's been making s**t up about people who are already losing their jobs?

The entire discussion was someone complaining that his use of "This is worse corruption in USA history" statements. You make similar statements all of the time on here. Not sure what the rest of your post is about as it is off topic.

It would help considerably if we actually nominated a decent candidate. Kari Lake isn't. She was convinced she could win major elected offices because people knew her from her many years of reading the news on TV. As it turns out, most people don't think that qualfies her for high level elected offices.

Do you think Kari Lake is the only person who has run in Arizona since McCain?

Every day it's "MASSIVE FRAUD" or "INCOMPETENCE and CONTEMPT" when we all know it's none of that, I do not do this

unless DOGE just turns into the typical bad apples themselves.

Isn't that the case in every situation, jeezzz man. How about we let them do their job, that is what they appear to be doing, they seem like they want to get things done.

Why is everyone so worried now? We had a Potato in there, and nobody was worried about anything.

sure we were worried. we constantly talked about who would pick up the phone after Biden sundowned at like 6pm. we wondered who was actually making the decisions, because it clearly wasn't the guy who had to led around by the hand.

IMO we don't need Grok perusing our Federal workforce. An unvetted system making decisions on who is "mission critical?" Who's determines what's critical? That's not how government works. This isn't a bare-bones startup. We have MANY programs whose function is not to make or lose money...they simply cost money. IMO Musk decided to do this and Trump refuses to admit there's friction or that he didn't know about it. Well, unless he's trotting out his old "This is the first I'm hearing about it, but word vomit about why it's fine"

Nobody was worried like we have seen in 4 week, all of sudden everyone works in HR or accounting for the government. You got guys in this thread telling these people how to run things and they couldn't even figure out it was simple bait. 😂

The reason we got to this point was a lack of vigilance. Being on guard is needed.

We are hoping for smaller gov't with fewer agencies and fewer unelected bureaucrats. DOGE is a new agency, filled with unelected bureaucrats. It may be a necessary one-off, but we need to make sure it doesn't become a necessary 'evil'.

I say, let it to its thing. Have congress pass simple legislation that creates safe-guards, transparency and accountability in each agency. Either kill DOGE at that time, or shrink it to the point of oversight per that created transparency and accountability. (Or fold it into existing DOJ.)

Very true, but the people sky screaming over the current actions really didn't care. Why weren't they sky screaming before? Let them work for a bit and see where it goes. I have no idea why someone would be upset (generally) with the actions taken so far. Obviously, they need to be able to work to identify inefficiencies and bad apples. Nobody has to trust them but not everyone has to be in their back pocket either at this stage.

The cutting is just starting, its going to be long 4 years for some but it doesn't have to be. This group seems like they care and they appear to be working. 🤷‍♂️
