IIRC my last "worst" was Obama signing off on a secret bill. I do also say every knew president is the worst, and the next one will continue it, so maybe you mean something like that.

Not sure if it's been cut off and don't care. The story was it was threatened to be cut off. Elon said that was a lie and went know a tirade trying to prove the report was a lie. This is a dude who paid kids to play video games pretending to be him so he could get video game ecred. I wouldn't believe anything he says. As a grown ass man I'm fine with not being good at video games.

yeah, just like Biden had to pay the Border wall builders more than their total contracts to NOT build it, in order to "save" money from building the wall.

federal contracts are the dumbest contracts around, and the worst part is they tell you write in that stuff that takes advantage of them.

Just so everyone knows DOGE is just SpaceX employees. All they are doing is seeing how the gubmint does stuff and if they can replicate it or do it better. It's a defense contract grab, that's all. Sprinkle in some insignificant cost savings with the potential to male inflation worse (see DOGE dividends) and the masses are politically satiated. Every DOGE person I've met has been borderline autistic and mildly day drunk or heavily hungover.

I'll say it again. Remove unions. Fund the government (pass a f44king budget) and real progress will be made.

Oh and give senior leadership like 10 to 20% raises and early retirement 🙄

Honestly I think as a contractor, it’s there to protect me from the Bidens and Trumps as the power changes hands. No way would I work for the government without that grantee.

its pretty standard fare for there to be clauses in contracts regarding stopping work and starting it up again. but the way the feds write it makes no sense.

typically you would get paid a stop/start fee, and whatever is currently outstanding. the amount is tied to how long the "pause" is, at some point most contracts will have wording that the contract is terminated if it lasts longer than X amount of time.

Fed contracts keep paying you some amount, even when you aren't working, plus the start/stop. I was told it was so they didn't have to renegotiate contracts, and have to reappropriate funds when things started back. that is "acceptable" for the mini-government shutdowns that last a couple weeks at most. but when its an active project that gets paused for whatever reason, it can last years. and usually has to get re-written anyway just due to inflation/change of standards/different goals/whatever.

I'm beginning to think Elon's true task is to kick over as many ant hills as possible. Doesn't matter if he can't clean it up or makes it worse. Keeping fraud&waste in the news is more important. Trump gets vocal about needing a red wave in the 2026 mid-terms to finally solve it.......

Even if red wave happens, balanced budget still doesnt happen

Why would a source inside an administration ever be named? The fact that you'll take a tweet from Elon at face value unless a Reuters report with 3 sources doxxes all of their government sources for you is part of why this country is so stupid now
