Tennessee pursuing committed kids while asking their own committed kid to shut it down it hypocritical, no matter how slice it. Agree to disagree, I guess. The example you provided is also hypocritical, but not the only possible example of hypocrisy relative to the situation.
Yeah, agree to disagree. It's mainly semantics anyway. I just personally don't view the connection between those scenarios as hypocritical. However, when you start pressing kids to shut down their recruitment, you do run the risk of pushing them away, so I think we agree on that aspect. I just chuckled a little bit that the kid was committed but didn't like that they basically wanted him to stop flirting with other schools. I guess I would understand that thought process more if he was an uncommitted kid coming in on an OV and felt like they were pressuring him to shut down his recruitment.

I used to think this way, but NIL$ has changed my position as I view it now as anyone pursuing employment. The employer has an opening and presents you with a financial offer. He wants an answer after a reasonable time for you to decide. If you can’t make your decision, then resend the offer and start searching for the next candidate. If that candidate has other job offers but isn’t fully committed to them, then see if your position and financial package will bring him onboard. Either way, showing interest in a candidate not fully committed elsewhere has no bearing on trying to determine if the first candidate is fully committed. JMO

Probably the dumbest post I have seen on this board. If a kid has shown interest in Tennessee and committed to another school but has not signed, it would be stupid not to continue to talk to him or her. Nothing is final until the paperwork is signed, and sometimes that doesn't matter to some schools. Recruiting is not a gentleman's game and money talks.

Think he’s just saying that UT shouldn’t expect kids to shut down their recruitment just bc they committed then. As you said nothing is final until paperwork is signed. Works both ways jah feel

Soooo dramatic, not to mention how misguided the rest of your opinion on the matter is. You clearly need to re-read.

Sounds like good recruiting strategy to me. It’s worked great for Dabo for years.

Was the guy we recently landed at OC committed then committed to West Virginia then recommitted to us?

I know we’ve had recommits in the past though.
Moore was never committed to us, he was never committed to West Virginia either. We beat out West Virginia for him.
