Wow. Another war here we come!!!
one could argue that the war has already been here as Biden started these flights, we have a decade with tens of thousands dying every year on both sides of the border, as well as CCP precurser products providing payback for the Opium War.

i thought Trump was ending all of them. It sounds like Trump is escalating these flights.

And based on the verbiage, covertly, this doesn't sound consensual to track down cartels.

Purely rhetorical argument, He is trying to end it..you cant just bury your head in sand acting like there isnt a war already.
Now how you end it, IDK, but current status quo isnt working.

Sure i can act like there isn't war already.

We haven't declared war. Nor have we even taken the recent bs move of just invading someone.nations violate each other's airspace without thete being war.

Or i understand better what war actually is. Trying to minimize war to a police action within our own borders is laughable even if you just consider our own history.
you ever hear of the Cold War?
there were special forces fighting all over the world.

this isn't all over the world. this is our border. and there would be no proxies it would be US vs Mexico. and it certainly wouldn't be limited to only special forces since we would have to guard our land, sea, and air borders.

this isn't parking a carrier task force off the coast of some nation that hasn't even invented a hot air balloon that has no possibility of fighting back. or attacking some Caribbean island with a smaller population than our military.

What would you do?

I meant if you wanted to do something about the cartels what would you do? The current approach doesn't work.
I have no problem with our government using violence to stop them. but that authority only applies in US territory. I have maintained I think the US needs to create a pseudo DMZ at the border. if you aren't crossing at one of the approved locations you will at least be arrested/detained and deported, and up to the use of lethal force.

but you can't unilaterally just operate in another nation, that is how actual wars start. or at the very least we spend 20+ years in Afghanistan to only end up paying the Taliban to continue producing opium.

I take an outlook similar to the WW2 rebuilding, where we let the Germans and Japanese rebuild their own nations. vs the post WW2 rebuilding we did where US companies went into Iraq/Afghanistan to implement democracy. The US can implement its wants, but through local means. It may take longer, and yeah the money doesn't immediately go back to American companies, but it lasts and produces better results.

acting without mexican authorities approval is just going to create the next issue. more of us funding our future enemies.

I like the DMZ zone idea. That would help for sure. I have no problem with using the military against the cartels, but we would need to be in and out...not staying there like an occupying force. Obviously, you'd want Mexico on board with this, and you could put a lot of pressure on them to make them say yes.

Produce the drugs in America. By using our innovation and machinery advancements, we could flood the world market with metric tons of cheap drugs which would bankrupt the cartels.

Legalize all street drugs and sell them like we sell booze.
I have floated those ideas before too. They would be far, far less deadly if produced here because companies that produce them wouldn't want their customers dying. That would be a very hard sell though, basically impossible.

I wouldn't call it escalating but he's just re-directing what's he thinks priority is. He needs to end the Ukraine war first then he'll focus on the cartels and China. After the way the Ukraine war opinion here in the states has gone, I just don't see the difference if China invades Tawain. Also, after the planned assassination on his life by Iran I would bet his finger is on the trigger there to, just waiting for a reason.

I agree. It's almost unconscionable it isn't hard "selling, or to sell" incarceration, CIA attacks on the cartels, and Billions (maybe trillions) spent over the last 60 years.

The US has to be careful declaring a war on the cartels. It could trigger a massive wave of refugees legally fleeing across the border. A million or so per year immigrants can be properly managed. Ten million or more and it will become even more chaotic than how Biden/Harris left the border situation.

Cartel War: It's not out of the realm of possibility to imagine Vietnam on our Southern Border?

Curious post. What exactly drives your hatred of Mexicans?
