President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Appears Balko's presidential memory started Jan 2025. The quote itself can be true or false, or both at the same time depending upon its application.

For instance, can lower courts hold the Executive branch office hostage and constrain it indefinitely? That is certainly the intent of the latest course of lawfare. When a court states that not just DOGE - appointees of the president - but the Senate affirmed Secretary himself cannot access records, at what point does the president tell the court to pound sand and force the issue, in a matter the Judiciary has no constitutional foundation to insert itself into? Who is violating the law there?

Wake me up when Trump actually acts as an authoritarian (Lincoln and FDR say "you got a lot of beer to drink, Don").

@Orangeburst - We’re sending Tripoli to Japan. Probably should leave America there too given our current CVN situation.

Love the Lightning Carrier role for the big Gator Navy. God, she’s beautiful….

if war breaks out, they could send a squadron to each small airfield like Tinian and create air superiority areas while Gators go reload with other Bs. Need some Cv-22s for logistics.

maybe that is bad idea in retrospect..just fly them in from main bases.

Welp, looks like you got some real rule of law people on your side with this Napoleon quote.

Were people wrong to call out Lincoln's rhetoric before it became action? Or was it "wake me up" BS?

"White House communications director Steven Cheung tore apart Swalwell in a statement reacting to his claim.

"Swalwell must be taking his orders from Fang Fang or suffering from a severe debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome because there is no other reason anyone with a functioning brain would make that that type of false and disgusting claim. He is a complete disgrace not only as an elected official, but as a human being who has continued to beclown himself," Cheung said.

Swalwell's claim also appears to be false, according to data from the National Transportation Safety Board's CAROL database. According to the catalog, there have been five fatal aviation incidents since Trump took office. The database shows 10 fatal incidents over the same period for President Biden's term, however."

Missed it by that much ....fart boy.

Trump knows his problem will not be Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants a just peace and he is a reasonable man.

President Putin is far more complicated and comes to the table as a clear adversary of the U.S. [Please re-read Putin's opening speech at the onset of the Ukraine war to understand his goals.]

Rather than respond to President Trump in a conciliatory way, the Russians have outlined demands that are not livable for the Ukrainians, for Europe, or for the U.S.

This week, news servce RIA Novosti once again outlined Russian demands, which included:

  • "Ukraine will officially abandon its plans to join NATO;
  • The Ukrainian Armed Forces will leave new Russian regions;
  • The Kyiv authorities will carry out demilitarization and denazification;
  • The country will adopt a neutral, non-aligned and non-nuclear status."
Also, the Russians want all sanctions lifted and all their monies in the West unfrozen.

Putin doesn't just want to keep the land he took by force, he also wants to dictate how a future Ukraine will look.

At the same time, we need to realize Putin has put the entire Russian economy and military on a wartime footing. It is doubtful that even a ceasefire or peace agreement will change that or his long-held plans to dominate all of Eastern Europe.

The bottom line here is President Trump is trying an outside-the-box approach.

He has had tremendous success with it before.

So let's give President Trump a chance.

worst case..war goes on and the EU can buy US weapons to donate.

Europe doesn't want that to happen and the midget doesn't want that to happen which is why they're freaking out, they'll have to come up with a plan to sabotage talks between U.S. and Russia.

European leaders hold emergency talks, fearing that Trump has abandoned age-old allies

Europe was going to be abandoned whether it was Trump or Biden, the timetable will probably significantly increase under Trump. The U.S. abandoned Europe long ago which is why they were used as a pawn.

It's pretty funny that in his first term, people argued with me for 19 pages that Trump wasn't an ideological authoritarian, and in his 2nd term when it comes up again, it took us a couple hours of arguing to arrive at "nobody cares" if he's an ideological authoritarian.

You claiming something, doesn't mean that something is true. He not only seems to be doing a good job, I would say super job. 🤷‍♂️

Not sure what the problem is, other than some need therapy.

But he tweeted. (Probably something to poke his finger in the eyes of his enemies that tried to destroy him by breaking too many laws to count in the name of "saving the country".)

It's still funny that some people are peeing themselves about a Tweet while they watched the entire US Federal (and many state) governments weaponized as a coup against our duly elected president, and then cheered them on as they tried to jail him to keep him off future ballots.

But Trump is the dangerous one...

In context, I actually agree with Trump... either way he is doing a great job from what I can tell. That guy is so infected with TDS, I don't think there is a cure... Trump will own him even in death.

I don't know what there really is anything for people to be upset about at this point, let alone melting.

You get to answer my question, first.
In defense of the Executive and the constitutional separation of powers, should Trump tell the court to pound sand, you have no jurisdiction here?

There are just too many "cried wolf" folks here to take seriously. We've seen what they believed, and what they refused to believe. Seen what they've booed and cheered. Too much to be taken seriously anymore.

The problem is this demonstrates that you don't even know what the conversation is about 🤷‍♂️

It was a rhetorical question and I don't care about your answer. You're trying to argue about one thing happening in the news right now when the conversation is about the broad idea expressed in the president's tweet. I would be trying to deflect from the tweet if I were on his ****, too.
