I can't. And they don't. UNC's stadium is a dump. TBA is opposite of that. At present our coach is better than theirs. Same for Kensucky.

Ok replace UNC with any P5 team that has nice facilities then that hasn’t had the success of those 2 programs historically and use the same comparison.

Perhaps this will help you see it more clearly:

Sweet 16s:

Duke - 33
UK - 45
Vols - 10

Elite 8s:

Duke - 24
UK - 38
Vols - 2

Final 4s:

Duke - 17
UK - 17
Vols - 0

Champs:

Duke - 5
UK - 8
Vols - 0

We don’t know whether Barnes is better than Scheyer or Pope overall. We know he’s more experienced and coaching at a lesser school in terms of bball pedigree and having a ton of success. Those 2 programs are blue bloods of the sport which gives them a built in advantage. They historically both recruit in the T5 of the rankings and most times T3.

That's how we are in basketball. Elite coach. Elite production. But we haven't been a mainstay long enough and certainly rivals are saying Barnes is on his way to retirement.

Having played basketball up until my body said "no", when a team is getting blown out at home by another meaty okra team, even though they came back, it screams inconsistency. The Vols do not have an alpha player that can take over the game. Some point to ZZ but when your alpha is a 5'-6" point guard, you're in trouble. I love ZZ but he can't take over a game consistently.

Being consistent is what makes teams have deep runs in the tournament. The Vols can beat anyone but the can lose to anyone.

I filmed a meet & greet camp with ZZ, JJJ, and Uros. He's 5'9" might be the only player on the team not "fudging" his height even.

Is it unacceptable? lol what does that even mean? We gonna replace a coach bc he’s got us as a consistent T10 program in bball but we don’t like his recruiting rankings?

Barnes is building the foundation. Next HC might have a different strategy (and likely will knowing DW’s hires) of emphasizing HS guys that score first.

I mean they're 30th in Kenpom for offensive rating right now... depending on your cut off for elite I guess.

But I think top 30 for over 360 teams is pretty damn good.

They can and have played elite offense before, so we know it is in there at least.

I'd call them an elite defensive team and great offensive team. Elite overall. I think maybe you cut "elite" off at Top 15 or 20.

He's also from (or at least near depending on where born v grown up) the tri cities. Pretty cool. But he's not a boy. Maybe looks short for a pro baller but he's like 26 years old at this point, 6'2" 185 lbs. I know I wouldn't want to step to him lol
