Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

And that's just the stuff we 'know' about. How about other stuff like the ingredients of the ingredients? What I mean here is the genetic makeup of the wheat in our bread. Bread in France or Japan for example tastes completely different than what you get at __________ <- (insert your market name here). Why is that? I think it is because French/Japanese wheat isn't designed to tolerate glysophates or other herbicides/pesticides. It not only affects flavor, but I'll wager it affects nutrition. @hog88 wants me to provide my evidence that American Frankenwheat has the same nutritional value as a Starbucks cup and of course I can't because the information is controlled by those that produce it. All I know is that my wife reacts differently to bread products than she did years ago. It tastes different. It grows unnaturally fast. Stir in a little common sense and tell me it is good for you.

Can’t speak for Japan, but French and Italian food is 100% different from the US and it goes to ingredients and how they are produced.

On the other hand, I despise German food. I always lost weight while I’m there. Not sure why, but I find it terrible. Makes my gut do dropkicks.

But the beer is great!!!!

Did she receive a COBRA notice? Or, did the husband intercept the notice? Don't know exactly what impact it would have, but something worth exploring.

When do you qualify for COBRA exactly, because they are still married and divorce has yet to be filed. He dropped her at open enrollment in December.

Im not a fan of German food either. It's OK in small doses, but a steady diet of it would kill me in a short time.

Now really good ramen..... oh yeah...

German food is great.
My wife's mother was German. The food is rich in flavor and often accompanied by savory sauces, but I don't understand how the entire population doesn't suffer from heart attack in their 30s. Turns out the "low fat craze" really was unscientific. Lots of carbs and beer, though. Maybe they exercise a lot in those lederhosen.

In fairness, I love Japanese, Italian, and French cuisine, as well. Honestly, I enjoy just about any well-prepared food, especially those with divergent flavors from what is customary in the States.

I have to have something green to eat. All that meat makes me sick after awhile. Same thing with Churrascurrias in Brazil. Yuck.

I had a rough night after my first trip to Fogo de Chao in Atlanta when we played Va Tech in the bowl game. Maybe the only time I've really experienced the "meat sweats."

I’ve recently become lactose intolerant. But I refuse tolerate my condition. So I’ve spent a lot of time on the toilet regretting decisions I have made. Like yesterday, I couldn’t pass on cheese dip and twice baked potatoes. And I paid greatly for it.
